I thought there was a way for users to pay via their checking account on paypal. Does that not exist as an option anymore via paypal?

I tried to recreate a new account and it asks for a credit card - is it possible to create a new paypal account with only a check?

I don't understand. You can accept checks in your paypal account but they show as echecks and need to be held until the funds are in PayPal. PayPal will net release an echeck until they have the payment. If you want to take checks then put it in your listing and have them pay you by check, that way you don't pay fees.

I understand now. I think the required credit card is to show that you are the one opening the account. There is no other way.
