Hi does anyone know of a wholesale source for souvenir type items. Things like souvenir shot glasses, ashtrays, pennants, drinking glasses etc that you find at truck stops and trading posts? Or does anyone know how to research this? I haven't had any luck trying to search online so far! Thanks in advance.

there are trade shows dedicated to premium items,i know there is one in dallas every year and there are intl ones overseas.
usually a company would ask the premium vendor to make these souvenir items and dirstribute them to customers, employees and retailors,if you are not in such food chain,i dont know how you can get them ??
you can ask the vendor if there is any leftover from the production run and how do they dispose of them??

Try going to your local library. They probably, not for sure, have a wholesale distributor catalog. I really don't think the ones that manufacture these items would be on the internet. I know that there are jewelry wholesalers on the internet but not the true wholesale places that sell to the ones on the internet. I hope you can understand that as it is hard to explain. There are probably two levels of wholesale manuf. The one we see here on the net is not the main wholesale place there is one before them and I doubt if they advertise. Like the party shows, jewelry shows. You have to go there and prove you are a true seller with proper credentials before they will sell wholesale.

Hi postcardman,

If you use the term "custom imprinted" in your search you may have more luck. Most companies will name drop but you can also order blanks from some of them. Some companies only specialize in glass but others offer a wide range of products.

Also if you look in your local phone directory under Souvenirs you may find a supplier.

My assumption is that you are trying to find preprinted advertising, state logo, touristy stuff. Honestly not sure where to find them although you might want to talk up one of the girls at your local mom and pop shop and see if you can't get them to give you a peak at one of those pesky catalogs that they consider junk mail and you think of as a map to the buried treasure.

If I am inorrect and you are looking for a source for creating themthese items then you are looking for Advertising Specialty companies. I believe the show that stop is referring to is the ASI show. which is a members only show of manufacturers showing off their custom imprintable wares to ASI members (which takes referrences and a couple grand to become the last time I checked)

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

another possible source- the wholesalers who supply your local dollar stores.some of these souvenirs will find their way to these wholesalers.
