Does this annoy the tar out of anyone else?
Auction #2470493464 in Ebay Motors.
I was running a search for "bassoon + jewelry" when this auction showed up. The white text on white background is the smallest I've ever seen. It's right above their rather annoying flashing logo at the bottom of the listing.

Report the jerk. With enough sellers like that the descriptive search feature would be useless. It's keyword spamming by any standards.

Wow,
Nice catch. The was incredibly tough to find. This is a clear cut violation. To this persons credit though. He/she has the font small enough to hide it quite well. The white is easy to spot, the small is tough.

'Tis the 1pt font that's working for him. Amazingly he put the entire keyword list (which someone kindly posted above) in the space of one LINE of 10pt text. I Must've hit Ctrl+F for the word "bassoon" three times before seeing where the text was hidden. It's just one little long dot in the middle of the auction.
Only clicked on his auction because only four auctions came up for my search terms....and besides, I was killing time and avoiding working on my own listings. Kinda like right now  . It's doubtful this is a successful selling strategy. If he'd been a bit more creative you know like ......
"Possible uses of this aviation wire are: file the end of this wire into a screw driver to tighten those loose keys on your Heckel system bassoon * braid it into creative Gothic jewelry * Use it in the nursery to hang up those Sponge Bob pictures...."
Then I might have bid just to give him points for creativity (and because I have Sponge Bob picture that needs hanging, though not in the nursery -- my plants hate Sponge Bob  ).

I've found several of these with the tiny font lately and it's usually when I'm searching for something and these ones show up and are totally unrelated.
Most of the ones that I've found are by newly registered IDs and I doubt they learned these secrets right away, they've been on ebay before or are working under several IDs.
Here is a good example if you slide your mouse across the bottom under where it says
"For more information, visit the storefront at " The print is too small to read but if you check the source code you will find a huge dictionary of keywords.

If you do an extended select you will see a highlight where it is on the page. If it is big enough to read you can see the text but this text is so tiny that is is just a little blur on the page when it is highlighted. Of course, as Kiara says if you do "View/Source" from the browser menu you can see the whole sorry list.

He also includes a clickable link to a web site which is against all regulations.
Take your mouse and run it under the line for more information and you will see small blue lines. that is the keywords.

I sent in a report on 10 of his 15 open auctions. I really feel this kind of abuse can make the search feature useless if it is carried to this extreme. I will check back later to see how eBay deals with the seller.
Some of you have expressed the feeling that reporting a disregard of eBay rules is meddling but keyword spamming has a direct impact on our ability to buy and sell on eBay.

He still has plenty of auctions up, including the ones I reported. It seems to take about a week for Ebay to do anything lately. I wouldn't report most violators, but it really gets me to have these weird items show up when I'm searching.
