Has anyone else noticed that there are lots of "lookers" on posted items but few if any of them bid- I wish EBAY would let the seller see how many people have the item on their watch list-

Sellathon provides this service, as well as how each visitor arrived at your auction : Which search terms they used, whether they were using category search or just a general search, how they requested the items to be ranked in their search, whether it was title and description or just title only. It's $50/year for this service, but that fee only covers so many auctions a week (perhaps 20 -- I can't remember at the moment). They used to have a free 1-month trial -- they might still have it.

BaconButtie has been pretty stable for past 3 months -- I like it alot, but you DO have to keep abreast (say what!) of his updates!

I use Sellathon and I really like it so far. Their customer service is awesome. They do still offer a 30-day free trial and you can purchase their service on a monthly basis now too.

The only problem with knowing if someone has your auction on their "watch list" is it sometimes can get your hopes up too high.

I've had numerous auctions show several watchers, but they didn't always turn into bidders.

Hey Tom. I thought we couldn't use baconbutte. Is it okay now?

I have a pair of earrings on for $5.99 1 bid but 132 hits. Do you think there is going to be some sniping. I sure hope so.

I won't use baconbuttie anymore. I had every auction pulled once that had his script. AuctionMeasures.com is a good one plus it gives you great stats.

He had to re-vamp his script back in JAN to smooth things with feeBay.

Yes, you do have to keep up with his updates -- but there have been no updates since JAN, so I think he & feeBay have KISSED&MADE-UP

I've never had any problems myself, & ya can't beat that price: FREE & it tells me all I want to know...

The important thing to remember when you have auctions pulled is that FEEBAY DOES NOT GO LOOKING FOR NO-NO'S -- some jerk turned ya in

Should also mention that you should NEVER include a link to him on yer AUCTION PAGE!

You can have a non-linking credit-button on yer ME page & dat's about it

About six mos ago, he uncovered a security flaw and, after being bum's-rushed by feeBay, he published it -- not too smart, as feeBay suspended him fur 90 days & developed an insectoid-suppository attitude towards him...

Why not start a very profitable website tom and let some pretzel choker come in and screw with it... then come back tell us how wrong eBay is...

FYI:

feeBay DID modify its JAVA rules.

It's pretty obtuse & I'm not sure if I understand it 100%, but from what I gather, all JAVA ain't the same.

They used to ban ALL scripts in yer listings -- if ya tried to list, it got blocked.

Then they modified that. -- I'm not sure if it is because the PayPal logo used to use JAVA or not, or what.

The impression I got about BaconBoy was that until he published the security problems, he had no problems with eBay.

He does have some nice scripts which make things easier fur me -- I particularily like his IMAGE programs.

Like I said, he & eBay have apparently KISSED&MADE-UP, & there have been no problemos since the beginning of JAN.

If one used his scripts that included a link back to him, then those were pulled back in DEC.

1971 YIKES!

Yes, I'm pretty sure HOME ALONE & most of John Hughes films were filmed there.

Also, I'm pretty sure F.Bueller's Day Off, also

A really beautiful town that had a GREAT bar -- think it was called: "The Rooster" -- but I could be suffering from terminal nostalgia

At that time, USCG had NO "C" school for Hospital Corpsman -- we went thru NAVY school & then had to do an extra 2 mos at the USCG ACADEMY HOSPITAL in NEW LONDON for independent training.

Since I had aced my class at GREAT LAKES, the CG gave me my choice of billets & I spent the remainding two years of my enlistment running the Eye Clinic at the Acad.Hospital

Tis how I ended up going from ENGLISH MAJOR at Syracuse to working as an Ophthalmic Technologist for 30 years

Guess what 12 I live in Kenosha and I did in 1979. We probably passed each other on the street. Kenosha is not the town that you knew. It went down the tubes for awhile, but it is getting better. My husband was a firefighter at Great Lakes.

So all you guys roamed the streets of Chicago, Milwaukee and surrounding communities. I lived in Kenosha and worked in Waukegan at that time but the Movie wasn't Home alone. It was with Donald Sutherland and I think Mary Tyler Moore. Home Alone was in Seattle. They have done a complete face lift at Great Lakes. Changed the Main Gate. I think they did that for security reasons. It's good to see all you guys spent your time in the great Mid West......Small World.

Edited because I didn't know where I lived

Libra-the only thing I know about kenosha is there was a basball team there in the 40's from a league of our own.Actually alot of that film was filmed in Evansville,IN.
Speaking of movies we had part of Die Hard 3 filmed on the taconic state parkway about 10 miles south of where I live here in Dutchess Co.N.Y.My wife was really pissed because they closed the parkway for 2 whole weeks filming this once sequence in the film and she had to take a detour to work until they re-opened it.If you saw the film it was raining and two cars were going at high speed and bumping each other-the whole sequence was only 15 seconds of the movie-and they roll over and when Bruce Willis gets out of the car theres a sign in the background that says "exit 3 greenwich-which is greenwich,ct which is 45 miles south east of here-thats one hell of a rollover !!-of course you wouldnt know that unless you lived in the area.
I remember the main gate a great lakes,if you looked across the street, the old training camp was there, with wooden buildings called camp "moffit" it was used during world war II.
As far as roaming the streets,I only went to Chicago once, and I had my navy picture taken on state street, which I still have.

Yea, SD, Treasure Island, Subic. And crossing the equator. Spent Christmas day, 1973 in Mombasa, Kenya. That was back when we had to explain that ownership of the oil was merely a technicality the first time.
