I am thinking about using the $100 option. How much more exposure does this actually get you if you have 100 identical items???

I just updated my new website - give me your feedback on it.

I never have used that. But if I had a high-end item to sell and there were tons of them in the category, I'd consider it. I have bolded my titles, maybe once a month for something, and have highlighted in yellow a few times. Not sure if it makes any difference.

I used it once for a really spectacular antique quilt. There are LOTS of old quilts and I thought having mine first/featured would help. The quilt eventually sold for over $1,500 so I think it was worth-while. But, I would use it ONLY for really high-dollar items that fall in categories with a lot of items.

Actually, I'm not sure that it couldn't be used to good effect even for low-dollar items.

You're doing the math and thinking, "Huh?"

It's simple. If you use Sellathon's tracking software you will see how many people call up your seller list after they view one of your items. In our case, it was a lot of them.

So then the question becomes, how many views and subsequent bids would it take to make the $100 investment worthwhile? I don't know. That's why I haven't done it yet. But it is an option I'm considering.

I use it for low value inpulse buy dutch where I have a large quantity to move. It works when the market is strong but when the market is weak it tends to be weak. I haven't used it lately with good results but you really can't expect to sell into a soft market and I have other stategies which are more cost effective. I will use it again however probably in the 3rd quarter.

Just remember that upgrades are not refundable if you have a non-paying bidder. I learned that the hard way.

I run 2 feature plus ($19.95) auctions a week. Featured Gallery is about the stupidest concept.........you are gambling on catching those who shop only by gallery view sorting. It doesn't effect your overall placement.

Use the Feature plus for your category and add a normal 25 cent gallery pic.

It does increase overall bidding activity.

I'll feature my standard large quantity dutch auction for an inexpensive item (Adult toy in mature audiences) and rely on people clicking the View Other Sellers items.

Without these featured auctions the rest of my "toy" auctions get completely overlooked. It doesn't really affect the bulk of my items on the main site but it does add to overall multiple item shopping for add ons to their toy selection.
