I picked up these great three tile handpainted pictures at an estate sale. They were made by Arnart and each one has the same number on the back - 7972. Worth listing? One at a time, all three? They cost 98 cents each back at least 30 years ago. Is the writing an artist signature?

they should be sold as a set, most people will hang them on the wall next to each other.
pretty set.
make sure you said handpainted old japanese tiles and listed under japanese antiques, not chinese or asian.
also make sure you said they are signed and sealed.

Thank you, I thought they should stay together! What do you mean by sealed? They have nothing over the top of them, no glass.

Thank you, that is my ignorance showing! I learned something today, no day is a bad day that you learn something new.

There is another item from this company on eBay right now, but with a Paris scene. These appear to be factory productions and the "signature" may be just one of the design details for the production worker to copy (i.e., not a signature of the person actually wielding the brush).

They are similar to silk paintings we have from the 1950's which is why I'm particularly interested. They compliment each other quite nicely on my living room wall.

Cheryl and all, I finally found a box for these and will be listing them tonight to end on Monday the 7th. The title will have Arnart Tiles in it and I'll post the number tonight. Thank you for all the help. Pat
