On May 1, I paid my ebay bill using my Paypal account. It went through and the payment was accepted by eBay. On May 5, they deducted the money again from my checking account causing it to bounce and causing it to incur $33 in bank fees. I have emailed eBay and talked to my bank. The bank said that if eBay does not return my money, they will consider it fraudulent activity on my account. My question is, how many others have they done this to? I'm just about fed up and just about ready to take their antics to the next step. The bank is appauled that they do not have a phone number for billing issues. How long does eBay take to correct this? My account will incur $33 every 5 days until it is brought to the positive. I cannot do it right now because I can't even get a paycheck from my employer due to financial woes. Any suggestions?
Are you also set-up for AUTO-PAY from yer checking account each mo, like me&Ralphie are?
If so, then they ignore EVERYTHING done after the invoice is sent to ya
IOW: Let's say they send you an invoive for $100 on MAY 31 -- but you PAY $100 on JUNE 1st with PAYPAL -- unfortunately, feeBay is still gonna take that original $100 out of yer checking account & leave ye with a CREDIT!
Or, at least I tink that be the way of feeBay?????
I never PayPal them ANY moola near the invoice date!

Stop Payment on Pay Pal and bug Ebay is all I can see you can do for damage control.
However that said you have made several errors which needs correcting if you are going to continue selling.
If it were me, when you account is OK and has over 100.00 in it, go to the bank and open a second checking account. (Most banks want 100.00 to open so just write them a check from account #1) Get bill pay for both accounts. Move 95.00 back into account #1 in a couple of days. It is a transfer and will happen within 5 minutes of your transfer.(Done on your computer at home through bill pay)
When your debit card etc comes in (about 10 days), transfer all Internet selling activity to it.
Now you have a fire wall of safety and can move money in or out of accounts at will.
Above may sound complicated but really isn't.
Make sure your post sale lot handling plan is well thought out and working as well. This incident may be a warning that your business plan needs work.
Yes, same happened to me in March. I usually go ahead and pay what is due on the 30th before the statement is sent. So, I just assumed if I paid it on the 1st they would not deduct it again. Goes with everything I have learned about assume! They did!
For me, it was ok because my automatic pay deduction does not come out until the 20th and the original payment was made on the 1st. So, I had plenty in my Ebay bank account to cover it and now have a very low amount due for April.
Since I rarely keep anything over my Ebay bill in that bank account (for PP safety) it would have been a big problem if I had been scheduled for payment early on.
Now, I know what to expect and will not pay this one. They can just wait for the 20th.

I pay both my Vendio Bill and eBay bill through paypal. For Vendio you have to send it approximately 2 weeks ahead and they tell you that. I also pay Vendio when there is a balance. With eBay I pay it when there is a balance also. I find this way easier. But what is easy for me I don't list every week anymore. It approximately every other week so by the time my next auctions start my balance at both places is 0 as I pay before I list again.

Sounds like your having my kind of week. I have overdraft protection on my account where if I don't have the funds in my checking, they pull it from my Savings account. I transfered funds from Paypal twice this week because I had some big orders coming in and I use my bank card as a credit card. Well of course neither Paypal transfer showed up,so my Vendio bill got paid out of the Savings account. But at least I don't pay any fees to the bank. If I pay any E-Bay fees through Paypal,I do it half way through the billing cycle. I do that if my bill is going to be real high for the month.

I think ebay needs to hire another accounting manager and redo their whole setup.
They billed me late, even later charged my paypal which was the credit card on file. The money was deducted from paypal but ebay didn't give me credit for it so my account was about to be billed again. I had some really big sales going and didn't want to risk being put on hold, so I paid AGAIN with another credit card. Then paypal cleared and so did my other card - I wasn't worried as it was time to pay again anyway. Well without informing me - a new Tech support guy refunded one of these payment. He wrote a nice email stating this funds would be returned to my account but would take 20 to 30 days??? Now he won't or can't tell me which account he's refunded.
So now I will not have the use of that money and will still have to pay my new invoice amount.
Thanks for NOTHING ebay??

Cheryl, I sure hope you get this straightened out!
I just went and paid mine earlier, well. they hadn't sent an invoice, yet, but there is that link, 'make a one time payment' so I did.... just wanted it out of the way this month.. I hope that they don't bill me again! It shows on my account $0 balance now, I think I'd be screwed if they bill again..
Good luck!

I have a friend they did this to. So steamed over the bank charges that they quit selling. Well, on eBay. Aw, too bad.
