I seem to have lost my tool bar and can't get it back. I hope I am naming the right thing - it's the bar that has the back button and history etc.
I feel sure it's some very simple setting but I have been looking for an hour now. Help anyone???

PS Now have a really nice pink tone to all my web pages???

Nothing with the cursor. I don't have a view button or any other buttons - there is no tool bar at all. Only on wed pages - it looks ok on my control panel etc

ladyjewels2000,

If you're using Internet Explorer...

Go to the menu bar at the top of your internet explorer window (should have the words File, Edit, View, etc...) Choose View -> Toolbars -> Standard Buttons Your buttons should reappear. Hope that helps!

I don't have any buttons. There is no bar there at all. No view, no back, no favorites, nothing. I have done what you said on my control panel page but it does show when I'm on ebay vendio or any other wed page.

Could have you maximized the screen inadvertently? Look in the very top right hand corner - click on the box that has a square (or two layered squares) in it...

It is full size now - but I can click that and make it smaller but none of these buttons come back? I feel so dumb right now?
Could I have changed a setting somewhere that won't allow this to show on wed pages?

I don't know what it is technically called, but I have been at some sites before where somehow or another I maximized my screen and it was a different looking maximized - seems it had a Windows icon or something.

Try taking your mouse and going up to the top as far as you can, and holding down the button drag down - will try to find something else in the meanwhile...

I just found this...

Lost Toolbar?

What to do when you fiddle around with things and suddenly your toolbar disappears. This is very frustrating if it is the main toolbar with view where you could otherwise get the toolbar back. Well, there is a simple way to get any toolbar back.

Point anywhere in a blank space at the top of your screen where the other toolbars are.
Right click and you will get a popup menu.
There should be the checkmark missing next to your standard toolbar.
Click on it and the toolbar should be back.

Hopefully this will work...

Thanks everyone but nothing is working. When I do what your recommend wgm - there is no standard toolbar there. I see link, address, quick launch etc but not standard toolbar to check. I think I have a Microsoft problem. I think I'm done for the night but will try again tomorrow.
Thanks for trying to help everyone

This happened to me a few weeks ago. What I did is use System Restore and went back a few days in time. If you have System restore, it might work.

My sister in law said I could have a virus but I have Norton

System Restore came with my PC. I have a Dell. I don't know if it's from Windows or not.

How are you able to go to different web pages? Do you still have the address bar? If so....

Point your mouse to the lower line of the address bar until you get a double arrow pointing both up and down. Hold in your mouse button, then drag down until you see the tool bar...

Sorry wgm - no address bar either. I did just notice that the only thing up there says provided by earthlink and I am no longer using earthlink. I have cable now. I am only able to go to the sites I have shortcut for on my desktop.

Try reinstalling IE - here's a link to it...

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.asp

It can't hurt anything, and may just help you out of this - and get rid of the pink pages too

Sorry I can't be of more help!

Try F11 to get out of full screen, then you should see at least file, edit, view at the top... if you dont see that reboot and try again.

If you can see file, edit and view, go to view and click on toolbars...

twelve - Full screen, that's it! I was thinking maximize for some reason - you can bet I have the F11 noted in case it happens again!

Glad you are back to normal, lady!!
