On a previous post several people said that sellers should get a DC from the post office when they send out packages. They said it was free with priority mail and 13 cents with all other mailings- When I asked about this at my local PO they did not know what I was talking about-told me the only thing they had was a proof of delivery form that was I think he said .55 cents now-

Can you explain the procedure for getting an electronic proof of delivery- I guess I'm still not into all the electronic systems that are available to sellers-

Do you accept PayPal in your auctions? If so you can print your labels with postage through PayPal and it is deducted from your paypal account. Great feature.
If you just want to print labels then to to
the USPS website and download the shipping
assistant. Then you can print all your labels with eDC on it. Prority Mail is free, all others cost 13 cents and when you mail your package your local postoffice will charge the 13 cents.
What is nice about the PayPal labels is that you can print your postage also and then you can mail from your home. The only problem is that if they want insurance you have to get that from the post office.

Here's the addy for the download for printing electronic DC ....free for Priority and .13 for Parcel Post. When you take the package to the post office they scan the bar code and it only charges .13 or comes up free depending on how you mail.

I've been using electronic delivery confirmation for about 2 years now on everything and it is great. Not only is it nice to fend of cheaters who claim they did not get their package, customers appreciate the information. Just go to the USPS site and download. Most post office people do not know about it, but are you really surprised by that? If they give you a hassle, just tell them to scan the barcode in, and the 13 cents will be added to the total (unless Priority then it is free)
