Bidder bids and wins. Bidder cites problems with bank and doesn't pay. 30 days go by since auction closes. Still nothing. I relist item, file FVF and leave negative and block bidder (or so I think). Bidder retaliates with negative for me. Not a suprise at all.

Item is relisted, bidder then uses BIN to close auction on the relisted item. Pays me, and expects me to send them their item as if all is good. I refund their payment and tell them no way in hell now that they left me a negative. Bidder argues with me all day yesterday, and finally caves. She then leaves a positive feedback for me citing her errors. The damage is already done since she left the negative to begin with.

I report her to eBay for tampering with my auction, and this is the reply I get:

"Regarding item 3807277533 , since they placed that bid before the
problems began, it would not qualify for removal. I will forward your
note to another team that can help you figure out how they were able to
place another bid after you thought you had blocked them. There may be
a delay before the bidder block is activated.

Since they bid on item 3814068594 after leaving negative feedback on
item 3807277533, they technically committed site interference. However,
the comment they left is positive and sounds possibly sincere. If they
are sincere and sorry about the negative, perhaps you could offer to
sell them the item after they use the Mutual Withdrawal Tool to retract
the earlier negative comment from your score. Now that they left a
postive, you don't have much to lose.

If they don't want to cooperate, let us know and we can at least send
them a reprimand for site interference.

Thank you for being part of the eBay community."

I know some of you will tell me I should follow what eBay suggests, but honestly, is that right? I mean, eBay is suggesting I sell the item to this seller and do a mutual removal. I don't want to deal with this deadbeat. She retaliated and is simply playing games. Yes, she left a positive for me afterwards, but she also left the negative. Why should she get all the benefits of the deal? the neg she received was for non-payment, the one I get is for retaliation for simply doing what I should do.

What would you do?

You've got her address, so:

1) Target ICBM
2) Salt the earth so nothing ever grows there again

not a bad idea. i have a hard time believing that a banking problem will take 30 days unless the problem was on her end and she overdrew. she wouldn't give details to the problem beyond that there was a problem so it makes me wonder. through the emailing yesterday, it was revealed that she left the negative because I told her I had to relist it because I couldn't wait any longer. She didn't realize that also meant that I was going to leave a negative. Hmmm. My TOS does state I leave feedback for all transactions. I guess she thought I was going to send her a stuffed teddy bear and some hot cocoa to make her feel better.

You already have a NEG and a POS from her.
She can do no more!
File your FVF on the first, 1 step closer to getting rid of her!
Collect the money for the second, send it to her.
Block her second I.D.
Leave her a NEG on the second!
After you get paid!

If you decide to accept & mail the package be sure to CYA with insurance & DC.

Something is not right with this seller, don't put too much trust in this one.
I wouldn't want to sell to them either.

You can get the NEG. removed if you want to go through the eBay "pay your way out" system called "SquareTrade." I have used it from time to time, and if I pay, the neg is removed. The right or wrongs of the issue seem to have little to do with such. I resent having to pay to have false neg. comments removed, BUT it seems to be the only way.
