Niel,

I've been using SpareDollar for several months - and except for spotty image hosting over several months, it has been pretty good. However, the unreliable nature of the image hosting has caused me to look elsewhere.

After reviewing the Meridian service I uncovered from an earlier posting today, we'll take a look at it and give it further consideration.

In deference to our host here, I'd say that reliability should play a big part in the decision for anyone who is serious about their eBay activities. I haven't heard any reliability issues raised here about Vendio.

I used to really push SD -- up until XMAS, when he decided to do a major overhual of his system, ruining TWO MONTHS of auctions during the most important time of the year!

A year ago, he had given me TWO FREE years as a THANK YOU for my help & advice to him when he was starting up the site.

After I threw a hissy fit on his boards about the DISASTER around XMAS, he rescinded the free months

Pretty silly & petty

I left & tried CA again -- but, they are still OVERPRICED & SLOW, so I dumped them

I'm over at ribbit now for past 6 months, &, so far, I've been extremely satisfied with them. Their CS is helpful & timely!

The only thing I don't like is their PSM, which is the same type as VD, so I don't use it

I considered VD, but the pricing is un-necessarily obtuse & confusing (on purpose??) for me-N-Ralphie

Niel,

The eBayer who owns the system is "noblespirit" -- look him up and check out his "About Me" page. There's a link there.

Wayne,

It doesn't concern you that you can (apparently) count the number of Meridian users without having to take off your shoes?

You're a better man than I. I salute you.

Tom, you are confusing me with you VD, CS and PSM or is it PMS. Maybe Ralphie can explain it a little better. Wow that was terrible for a disaster to happen before christmas.

Thanks Biz - checked out noble spirit. I am so confortable with Vendio, I will probably stay put but was trying to save a few dollars.

Neil: How's Topper?

PSM = "Post-Sales Management"

CA = "Channel Advisor"

VD = wow! When I was training as a Corpsman in the Coast Guard, boy did we watch some scarey movies!

Somebody here--maybe Tomwii?--turned me on to Sparedollar a few months back. Frankly, I've not had any problem with it, other than once in a while image upload is slow. OH, and once when I first joined up my pictures disappeared for a couple of hours--but since then it's been smooth sailing.

You could always use eBay's Turbolister--I used that before Sparedollar with absolutely no problems. It doesn't have the variety of templates, though, or let you put up as many pictures without paying for it.

Fluffy,

Thanks for the heads-up on others using Meridian. Looked at several sellers (actually had to take off my shoes after just searching on "Meridian" on eBay). You're right - there aren't thousands - or even hundreds - but a lemming I'm not - or at least I'm a reformed lemming.

Why would using a service that apparently has some serious backing and has been tested by a few volume sellers be a bad thing? It does have more behind it than I would believe SD does. And, I'm not one to need a lot of tech support (most times).

Evalutating on look of the auctions, apparent ease of use of the interface, and some sort of connection with payment tracking and shipping... It's still worth a test run to see all of what they have to offer. I admit, I haven't spent more than a few minutes going through the info and will do due diligence during the 30 day trial.

I'll let you know what I find.

I use inkfrog.com
12.95 a month, no extra charges. Been with them for well over two years with never a problem.

They offer a free trial, check them out.

Anyone here remember shosh aka shoshanna she recommended them.

I have been with Auction Watch/Vendio since its beginning & for the price & reliability, I won't change. I am on the Premium plan & it cost me $21.00 & change last month. I like the unlimited images & the templates. My images always show up sharp & clear.

I am using SD for a few now, because it is a cheap way for imagehosting...

All the providers in Holland give you 10 MB for your own homepage...and if selling on EBay then 10 MB is peanuts !!!

So I joined SD to store my images ....For the rest I hate there SDlister...it is sooooo slowwwwwwww..........

So I use HTML to create my listings on EBay , with a little bit of help from Turbolister....

and this is how it looks...

BTW: PP surcharges are a No-No!

"Surcharging for all PayPal payments is prohibited outside of the United Kingdom. According to our User Agreement, sellers residing in the United Kingdom and listing items for sale on a UK-based website may impose a surcharge, (NOT after JUNE 6, Hee!Hee!)"

To post a link here (I guess it is UBB - whatever) you do the following and take out the astericks * :
[url*]web address goes here[/url*]

and to post an image:
[img*]web address{/img*]

Bold is [b*]
Underline is {u*]
Italics is [i*]

etc..you use brackets instead of <>

I have never used Vendio, but I think the scrolled boxes with your other auctions is primo! Really gives you a polished look that I didn't want in my auctions. I was looking for that stupid bubba with a computer and a camera look. Hehe.

Here are my favorites. Shooting Star for management and Poster Toaster for listing. I still use dial-up and both of these allow me to do everything offline. I also like the fact that Toaster is free, and I only had to pay $50 for the Shooting Star registration and no monthly fees. I used Vendio back in the days of AuctionWatch, but didn't really like it. I also used SD for awhile, but again, I really like having everything stored on my computer. I use the free web space given to me with my dial-up account for pic hosting. Works for me, but everyone has different needs and preferences. The best thing to do is to use the free trials for each and see what you like.
