Here's a situation I'm in right now. Auction closes , buyer is from the getgo a PITB "shipping's too high- try DHL", politely explain that I use 3 carriers and have already found the cheapest of the 3, DHL is not one of them.

Goes round and round about how he stole these items for $44 and I must feel like a schmuck for not having a reserve etc. I advise it may take a few days to get these packed - big items, requires a max OS2 box to get the price I quoted. His reply is "no matter, whenever you get em here is OK" and I foolishly take him at his word.

Yesterday, 7 days after he paypal'd me money, I get a FEEDBACK from him, " Where's my item? Paid 10 days ago. I'll change this comment when I receive my items". BTW, its a neutral on my up till now perfect Feedback score on a new ID I've been using for a while.

Today I made a max OS2 box , wrapped and shipped his stuff. I'll wait till it's received and signed for before I do anything- whatcha think I ought to do?

I wouldn't have shipped it. It would have had a tragic accident falling off the back of the UPS (or whatever) truck. I would have refunded his money with a sincere shrug.

THAT is what he set himself up for.

Fluffy -- I like the way you think! Guess the buyer would feel like a schmuck then, huh? And rightfully so!

I would have taken $10 for the lot of them - just crap so far as I was concerned - I'd rather have the cash.

I was thinking more in terms of FEEDBACK!
Neg would be too strong, but a neutral is probably in order.......

If he paid quickly, leaving a neutral or negative wouldn't seem right. However, the more I deal with some of these insane people, the more apt I am to take fluffy's advise. I did on leaving feedback and even though I got one in return, I don't feel the least bit upset over it. At least not anymore.

I think for too long the bidders have been running the show and I think that needs to stop. Sure, they are buying your product but, where else are they going to get something for nothing? My brother and his partner gripe about some of their customers at the antique shop. All I have to say to them when then comment is, "Brother, you ain't heard nothing yet". People are far more apt to be morons when it's over the Internet than when they are face-to-face with you. There's no fear in bullying someone who's 3,000 miles away.

If you're not comfortable with causing the "demise" of this product, just ship it out and leave him feedback appropriate to how he paid you. At least he paid.

If he didn't contact you to inquire about the status of his item, and threw that neut at you out of the clear blue sky, then a neutral is not in order. Time to straighten this jerk out and let him know what he's facing in the real world of online auctions. He decided to put a dent in your perfect record, it's your turn to put a hole in his big enough to drive a Mack truck through.

Wow, sparkz, I haven't gotten to where you are yet with these bidders, but I can tell you I'm close! Seems a lot of us are simply fed up with the constant bombardment of morons and cheapskates! Sometimes I feel like I'm working in a circus only a circus is far more entertaining.

In feedback he said he'd respond later- 10 days since he paid . Out of the blue.

Later in email he said he'd change it- but can he ST it without my ok?

Yes. He needs your approval to do a Mutual Feedback Withdrawal (which just leaves the comment in place, so there's not much point).

Hi all,

I don't know much about it but even if he puts a positive response in the feedback he left for you it will still be a neutral.

I'm glad you let him know the shipping wouldn't be immediate, say, within 48 hours or so. Hang onto those emails where you let him know that, might come in handy.

Based on what I've learned right here on this board, the only way to get rid of it entirely is for the offending party to pay the money to Square Trade. Which he may or may not do.

As far as leaving him non-positive feedback, I'm not sure that's appropriate. He did pay. And he did wait a week before he left the neutral.

But, as Jack says, if he doesn't follow through and remove the neutral, he might be in line for a neg. How to word it I don't know... I'm sure someone here will come up with a good one.

What to do? Too bad you've shipped. I like Fluffy's plan!

This guy richly deserves a neg. I'd do it.

I got a neg from a newbie buyer this week because she didn't like my EOA email. (Over 5000 transactions with the same email and nary a complaint till now. I figure she had me mixed up with someone else???) She had paid right away so I refunded her payment and cancelled her order. Why in the world should I send her anything when she's obviously a nutjob.

I'm still deciding on what kind of feedback she's going to get and how it should be worded.

I think you should appologies to this person for not sending out the item in a timely manner. 7 days after you had payment in your hands and you still hadn't shipped it. You should feel real lucky you didn't get a negative feedback. Take the neutral and chalk it up to experience.

If he said not a problem for delayed shipment, then I wouldn't ship it to him. I would refund his payment and simply not ship it. Why??? Because this will be the guy who does a chargeback on you after getting the item. The loophole is you have to ship the item within 7 days of receiving payment through Paypal, otherwise he can charge it back, and you're screwed. He sounds like the type of bidder who would look for that loophole and jump right through it. I would leave him the same feedback as well. He didn't contact you regarding a problem with it, and obviously ok'd the delay.
