...and a couple more hands, but that's another story.

This is a weird business. I was just browsing other peoples' anklet auctions to get an idea of what gets bids and what doesn't, and I noticed one or two sellers had a foot form to display their anklets. Good idea, but where does one acquire a third foot?

Off to Google.

Fluffy,

Check this out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50950&item=3818057496&rd=1

I'd loan you one of mine but I broke it several years ago and it probably wouldn't work very well!

Try a shoe store. It needs to be a store like Bakers, maybe Payless but not stores like walmart. Remember in the good old days when stores sold nylons but they aren't around anymore. Maybe a lingere store. They are round but hard to find.

Ah. Found 'em. Those sellers are actually using shoe forms, aka hosiery forms, aka foot forms.

Lucy,

Great minds think alike. Already fired off a query to that seller. There are similar new hosiery forms you can get on the Web, where the form is standing up on the ball of its foot. I wonder if that might not be a more graceful and dynamic display than a flat-footed form.

Here are a couple of sources for other jewelry, sock or shoe sellers that might be interested:

Charm anklets definitely look better when photographed on a foot form.

Oh yes, up on the ball of the foot would definitely be more graceful. I wonder, though, how you get the sock on it?

Of course for anklets that wouldn't matter. Same thing for bracelets or any other jewelry. Much prettier on a display.

I use Ms. Headless-No-Name for necklaces. Sometimes I put a whole bunch on her when I'm selling a jewelry lot.

Yes I agree everything looks better when displayed on the part. You can change the looks of them also by using knee high nylon stockings. I think the forms are not true to human color, as they are usually more pink, and by putting a nylon on them would get them more true to human color especially for the jewelry.

I guess that begs a question.

I don't wear anklets, either the jewelry kind or the hosiery kind, so I don't really know.

Do people wear jewelry anklets over, say, nylons or pantyhose or socks? I'd always assumed they wore them next to their bare skin.

I don't wear the jewelry kind but I'd think it would be over the pantyhose.

Payless Shoe Stores carry knee-hi hosiery, in various styles and colors, for about $1.00 a pair. For a few dollars, Fluffy, you could do some interesting "background" colors and subtle patterns to set off the shades and designs of your anklets. Create a new style statement!

Let us know when you have your new pictures up and running. Would love to take a look. My daughter loves anklets! It's time to start thinking about Christmas shopping.

Do you or anyone else you know have elegant looking feet/ankles? You could go to a craft store & get one of those kits that allow you to make a cast of any body part you like and make a unique display model for your anklets.

Or you could buy it online:

Not me; I wear size 10 gunboat shoes.

The cats have great ankles but they're rather small and furry.

I didn't know such things existed. Although maybe I did; I saw a special on HBO where they were making a cast of this guy's hoo-hoo so it could be mass-produced as a sex toy.

lol fluffy your posts really make me laugh (give momma some that hoo-hoo now baby,ok ?)
lol>>>lol>>>

In answer to your question, I've always worn and seem them worn next to bare skin, and under stockings - but that doesnt mean people or kids dont wear them on the outside, but I cant really recall seeing it that way -. Most of the young chicks wont be wearing stockings with them anyway because they look nice with bare feet or sandals. (You should make a killing with them for the summer, btw..I would think so, anyway)
