Hi, I am ready to do a meltdown. Please help. I have looked at so many postings on the Dell site and still can't find an answer. A cd that was sent to me to do an emergency boot on my Dell laptop doesn't fit down into the cdr/dvd drive. There is a little spindle? thing in the drive that the cd is suppose to fit down over. The cd is too small to fit down over it. The outer dimensions of the cd are the same. Have I lost my mind? I didn't know there were different sizes. I thought I could just burn a new copy in my Gateway and that one would fit. Nope. That cd center hole is too small also to fit into the Dell cdr/dvd.

they sent you a mini disk which will work in just about any CD drive except of course yourse which has a spnidle (how old is it that it has a spindle BTW - I have never seen one before that has that.

Go to your local Kinkos and ask them if they will make a copy for you on a standard size disk - or perhaps someonne you know with a burner can do it for you.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Drill the hole out to fit?
