Hi, all: I had an auction winner who then disappeared off the face of the earth, no contact, no nothing. Had bid on two different auctions, same item, chose to pay, evidently for the cheaper one and blew me off.

The 90-day limit for leaving FB is coming up in about a week. I wanted to wait until the 89th day to leave the neg--then I read something posted here that said when you leave the feedback, the 90 day limit starts up all over again. Can this be true?

Obviously, I'm trying to avoid a retaliatory neg, but I think it's important to warn other sellers about this ditzy dame.

Trying to time a neg in order to avoid a retalitory neg is akin to tap-dancing on quicksand!

Negs can be left as long as the auction is in feeBay's database; approximately 90 days post EOA...& the check is in the mail & I promise not to...

Hi Roadsmith!

Tried it once as well, and "quicksand" is the best way to describe it.

It worked, but only because the buyer must have seen it a while later.

I do know though, that it does not give you another days, it does give the other side some time to respond.

I have 2 of my auctions bookmarked for a 90 day Negative Feedback. I counted the days on the calendar to the minute the auctions ended and have hi-lighted the dates on my calendar.

I hope this works for me, I am tired of getting the retaliatory Feedbacks. I will let you know in 10 days. One is June 16th and the other is the 21st.

Good luck

Don't bother with the feedback. File for your FVF and move on. Once they get two more FVF's they'll be gone.

Wait until 3:00 AM and verrrrry quietly neg them. They will be sound asleep and never know what happened

Thanks for the good advice, people. I'll ponder whether to take the quicksand approach and try to time the FB exactly, or just file for FVF.

If the bidder is currently ACTIVE then you never know when they will show up to retaliate.

If the bidder hasn't had any transactions in over a month then they may not be back in time to leave a retaliation neg.

I was thinking the same thing that [b}lovepotions[/b] mentioned.

I would only risk it if they are not active.

A seller should not mess up their FB for a deadbeat. Most sellers never even look or care about a bidders FB, but smart buyers do check on sellers.
FVF is the way to go.

mauibabbe Be sure & come back & let us know.
