Other sellers copying portions of their listings, titles or pictures? I am having a real rough time of it. Almost every time I do a thorough search, I come up with at least 1 seller who is stealing something of mine -- whether it be the listing title, parts of the description or the pictures. I try to make my listings stand out by certain capitolization, etc. That is usually how I catch them. Or because of the watermarking on my pictures. It is so obvious! Sorry to vent but ... it annoys the crap out of me!

I was noodling around on eBay the other day. Came across this auction.

What a refreshing change from the sellers who are all bound up over their pictures and descriptions. I notice her auction closed at a pretty good price.

Personally, I don't have the time to fool around looking all over ebay hoping to nab some miscreant who's using my pictures or descriptions.

Edited to add: To answer your question, no I don't.

It can be irritating. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But asking permission would not hurt. I have done so before and gotten great information on taking difficult pictures that I otherwise would have learned the hard way (trial and error).

Lucy -- Neither do I. I like to look through other listings to see if there is anything I might like to purchase and happen come across these listings. Usually I just look at the newly listed or the ending early, but last night I had more time and went a bit deeper into the listings and came across one that is almost identical to mine.

Parklane -- I agree. It is very irritating. And I know that when others copy my listings it's because they see that I'm doing well and they want to do well also. I've taken the time to read community boards, asked questions and researched to learn and get to where I am now. Not to mention lost alot of money while going through my learning phase. It just annoys me to have a seller just copy my hard work and profit from it.

Sorry to vent ...

Picture stealing bothers me but otherwise I really don't care. It doesn't take me long to write my descriptions as parts of the that I cut and paste but sometimes when I take my pictures it takes up more of my time. I have given permission for sellers to use my pictures and then I don't mind.
