Check out # 4901927184. Seller e-mailed me stating "Sorry, I cannot sell the necklace at this price. Thanks for your consideration." Seller had forgotten to put a reserve. Why didn't they notice that for seven days? There were three other bids and the seller only had three items for sale, so you would think they were watching. I haven't responded yet. Sure wish I could have done that on some of my auctions. I have often sold items for way less than their value. How would you guys respond to this?

SELLER CANNOT DO THAT. IT WAS NOT A RESERVE PRICE AUCTION. HOWEVER THEY ACTUALLY WROTE IT THE DESCRIPTION. the reserve price of this item is $50.00.THIS IS VERY LOW PRICE.

REPORT THEM TO EBAY..

Thanks, Tom! Well, even if it looks like a tapeworm the seller should sell it. Waah! I want my 14k gold tapeworm!

She has already relisted it for $49.99. There's no reserve, but the description still states that the reserve is $50.00.

isn't it against ebay rules to do this? she should have to honor the bid whether she is losing money on it or not!

Earthmum: I just sent this seller a question. Below is my question and her weird answer.~Adele

>> Subject: Message from eBay Member

>> Dear bluepotato1,
>>
>> I wonder if you were aware that you can't use a reserve price in an auction unless it's stated at the top of the auction where your opening price is? I think you're doing this in your relist, too. You have to PAY Ebay for a reserve auction! Ebay will be after you soon if you don't mend your selling ways.

Her answer:

Yes,I did! Then I can't put reserve on my item anymore. Thanks for your advise.

earthmum: did it result in a successful auction; with you the winning bidder? if so, feedback ????

----------------------
Jack, "Obviously TOO cheap to pay the RESERVE fee"...

YEAH, and if it was successful auction, the buyer could be facing a npb whack, is she not?

hello again earthmum;

i finally saw the auction; being the winning bidder, you may become subjected to npb alert and warning from ebay..i am sure you know what happens..and you are certainly subject to feedback.
---------------
this bidder "cant use the reserve,"??? dont know what this means unless trying to conserve the visa limit. i am not sure how much a 9.99 vs. 50.00 auction costs, but cant be that much..but it adds credence that she may be too cheap, and will try for a fvf.
---------------------

this is the kind of junk ebay should stop immediately; and to guarantee that the innocent bystander[you in this instance], doesnt get hurt..

Thanks everyone! I e-mailed her and stated that she should have put a reserve through eBay, not just state it in the auction. Not a word. She also had another identical necklace listed with the one I bid on. That also ended cheaply. Wonder if she sold that one? I'm gonna neg her - perhaps that will teach her a lesson. She'll probably retaliate, but that's okay. Makes me wonder if the necklace wasn't 14k, just plated. Anyway, don't want that tapeworm now!

Like they give a rats patootie?

I am kind of proud of you placing the neg. That is how the system works and it had to be a tough decision. Of course some say the feedback system is flawed so what do I know. I buy on other ID's and keep my selling away from us frivolous evil gouging sellers. hahahahaha!!

As far as I know, 585 is the European designation for 14K gold.

Jeeze... $8.00 to ship a necklace like that? I's send it for $1.00 plus insurance if necessary.

Hi Valleychic - I'm having loads of fun with my new eBay IDs - I can bid incognito and leave silly funny feedback and not worry about the stellar reputation under my main name.

Edited because I can't type...
