Dumb question;
Are "fixed prices" the same as BIN ?
If not what are they ?

I really don't know what fixed prices are, never having used them.

Forgot to ask, can anything be listed or just certain catagories.

I haven't listed in ages & it's time I got started again.

Everything counts as long as it is no longer than a 7 day auction.

Edited to add...Fixed price listings are the same 35 cents as regular auctions normally are (except today of course). So, it is not BIN, but a separate listing type altogether.
I'm not sure how to do it through Ebay or Vendio. I use Auctionsage and all I had to do is highlight my listings, click on convert to fixed price, and they were ready to go.

It is listing 895 of them now while I am typing this.

They're regular eBay listings that you don't bid on. Just buy it and pay for it.

Just like a store listing, only they show up in the main search exactly like a regular auction.

Exactly and even items that you want $500.00 for can be listed for 10 cents. Just no auction involved. Sort of like a store or a flea market minus the haggling. I would assume that listings have dropped and perhaps e-Bay hopes to make some on gallery pics and the other frills.

mcjane; They are not the same as BIN. FP is just like a store price. I don't like it myself. Have 30 auctions going on tonight not one is FP.

I wouldn't ever use FP for items that haven't been listed before. But, for my postcards that have already gone through 2 or 3 listings it works great.

I have already sold 24 since midnight last night. So, I have recouped all my Ebay fees and any other sales are free and clear. These are all items I did have in my store.

I wish Ebay would offer an enhanced store feature where items would show up in the regular search. That would be something I would gladly pay extra for.

I got about 800 items listed before I ran out of steam. I just do relists for deals like this too Linda. There is no way to change format with Vendio except for editing auctions one by one. (HINT HINT Vendio!) Sales have been ok but not super - I've made back my listing fees and about $3/hr for my listing labor. I will put all unsold items in my store (another session of editing format one by one in Vendio).

Linda, I've found that by watching my keywords and altering my titles a bit, I can sometimes get more store items to show up in main search under the new format.

The trick is it only works for buyers who are doing searches very specifically - someone who just does "postcard" isn't going to see any store inventory items.

I've had dramatic increases in store sales since the new search with limited store inventory items went live...

I got 50 items listed last night - I like the fixed priced promotions almost as much as full FLD.

Thanks for the suggestion Katiyana. I will see what changes I might be able to make when I move these fixed price listings back to store.

I have only sold 43 of my 1192 FP listings so far, but it only took me five minutes to convert them over and list them so it is getting much more exposure than they did in the store.

Hope you all have a great weekend. I will be away from the computer wrapping up the wedding plans for my daughters July wedding I promised her I wouldn't go near Ebay for 2 days...now, if I can just keep that promise. After all, this isn't the wedding yet
