Sanmar - in the other thread you mentioned Tylenol PM?

I used to take these (well, the Walmart brand) until one of my blood tests came back with bad results on my liver readings. So I switched to the generic brand of Sominex by Walmart. They contain the same thing that is in the Tylenol PM but without the Tylenol. I had a nurse caution me about taking Tylenol as she had a friend that almost lost her liver over Tylenol and I'd forgotten about it until the doctor asked me how could I have liver damage. Once I quit taking it, the next test showed OK. I don't even take Ibuprofen now, I take Naproxen Sodium.

Just a little heads up coming your way.

hi glas;

when i first read that thread RE tylenol, started to address the old liver trick.
-----------
i take for granted everyone knew this contraindication. its always been posted on box/bottle...i think first publication was on excedrin, but not sure.
...the label reads, overdose may call liver damage.

i am glad you posted,

uh oh. I'm in deep deep trouble now. So we just moved into the new house with the big Ebay room? (ebay related)

I bought one of those Intex easy set pools yesterday and put it out on the deck and filled it up. If anybody else thinks about doing it....DON'T!

Dear hubby was complaining about all the water I was "wasting" on a baby pool. I just came outside and the deck has collapsed. Wait until he gets back from playing golf and sees the deck.

Is this Friday the 13th?

I did some calculations......

Small pool 10' round by 3' deep. formula is PI x R x R x depth = 3.14 x 5 x 5 x 3 = approximately 236 cubic feet of water in the SMALLEST Intex easy set pool available.

From http://www.onlineconversion.com/waterweight.htm
we get a weight of 62.4 pounds per cubic foot for water.

OK, 236 x 62.4 = 14726.4 pounds or about 7 1/2 tons.

Or in other words your deck was unsafe for a crowd of about a hundred average weight people. Tell hubby that you just dodged a liability bullet. What if you hadn't of stress tested that cheap deck and found out the hard way it wouldn't hold a hundred people?

Tongue firmly in cheek.

Recently purchased home with a deck collapse. Maybe you should check and see if it was added, if so, with the proper permits? Don't mention the pool, of course.

Seriously, I am glad no one was hurt, this could have been bad.

I guess I'm just grateful that I hadn't had the expensive hot tub installed on it and had that happen. I was planning on pre-visioning water on the deck there in the hot tub (just a few more ebay sales and it's done!) and pre-paving my hot tub. The baby pool was just for kicks for the rest of the summer, the grand kids are coming to visit in a week or two and I thought it'd be nice for their visit.

Parklane...Sorta reminds me of when waterbeds first came out. People setting them up in mobile homes with no thought of reinforcing underneath. There were a lot of rude awakenings in the middle of the night when those things went crashing through the floor. That's the same reason many apartment managers will not allow them in upstairs apartments.

Back to the liver damage caused by Tylenol. It is even more likely to result in liver toxicity/failure if one is taking Tylenol and exposed to environmental toxins.

A friend of an aquaintance of mine took a dose of Tylenol and flew for a few hours on an airline that had recently sprayed for insects. She quickly became deathly ill and was diagnosed with liver failure, which is irreversable. The doctors said it was exposure to both the Tylenol and the insecticide at the same time that was the cause.

Additionally, The "PM" part of Tylenol PM is simply an antihistamine, last time I checked. I was cautioned in an emergency room never to take a sleep aid of that nature since antihistamines interfere with my blood pressure medicine. I use a more natural source, like Melatonin, available in health food stores, and now many drug stores.

Friends don't let friends use Tylenol.

I used to use Nuprin for pain, but one side effect it can cause is...headaches! For a while, I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working! Alleve's what I use now.

Aspirin = Salicylic Acid

Nuprin = don't have any, don't know, don't care! (slap me)

Tylenol = Ibuprophen?

Aleve = Naproxen Sodium

Immodium = Lopermide Hydrochloride
OOPS! wrong end!

By the way, buy the generics at Wal Mart.
MUCH cheaper, by some dollars!

This place is amazing...

Sanmar comes in with a question about how to get his shipping charge to appear in an invoice.

Morph #1 - Pain meds & liver tests

Morph #2 - On-the-deck swimming pool collapses deck, including water weight calculations.

Morph #3 - Water beds not allowed in upstairs apartments

Morph #4 - Back to meds

I wonder where it'll go next?

Just couldn't waste a chance to use it, all in fun...

fyi: Tylenol is acetaminphen. I take the Costco brand "Kirkland" Iasked my Doc (an internist"{ about taking them. He said as long as I only take 2 or 3 per DAY, I would not havbe to worry. According to him when you take more than 6 a day, you can run into kiver problems. Hell, I worry more about my intake of wine & vodka more than my pills.
