I don't think so, I just want to send a paypal invoice to a customer that has an email address with which looks like: their [email protected] and their name is completely underlined (underscored?). When I try to use the underline key next to the 0 on the keyboard it shifts the first character over one space over, which isn't what I want.
I'm not real sure what you're after either but it sounds like you're having mousing position trouble. If you go to your buyer's feedback their name will be up at the top in a regular format - not as a link. You should be able to copy and paste from there without difficulty.
I don't know why you want their name underlined...

You want to underline something in an email, because you saw that somebody else did it, right?
I have windows xp, and there is an underline icon in the space above where you would type the message. When I had windows 98, there was no way to do it.

I am not sure what is being asked for here, but will throw in a bit of possibly related info.
Some email viewers place an underline under links which may include web page urls ( example http://www.vindeo.com ) , and email addresses.
When an email viewer is set up to do this, whenever there is a web site url or an email address it automatically underlines, and many times changes the color of the "link", symbolizing the viewers ability to launch a web browser or email client by clicking on the underlined "link".
These people generally do not put the underline underneath these items, it is placed there by your viewer.
Some email clients will place these links in the current view of the author as they are typing the email. This might be an optional setting to show "links" as underlined while authoring.
If editing in a text only editor there is a good chance you will not be able to underline, but the receiver's software may automatically underline it and make it a link.

I have windows 98 and I underscore e-mail addresses all of the time. Just depends upon where you are underscoring them.
In my chart that I use to track my auctions, I under score the e-mail addresses. Then all I have to do is click on their e-mail address right in my chart and it will automatically bring up the send window in my e-mail. How I do it is put their e-mail address in my chart in the location I have set up for it, then use the space bar once and it automatically underscores the e-mail address making it a live link.

When you type an email address it should automatically underscore. Some email programs don't show it while you are composing the email. However, if you send it and look at the copy in your Sent Mail folder, it will be underlined. If you want to test this, send an email to yourself that includes an email address in the message. Let us know what happens.
