ebay buyer ID: marfabuna_18

check out the items this person has purchased with BUY IT NOW over the past few days. He/She has a ZERO rating and has purchasing tens of thousands of dollars worth of various types of items items, different categories.

As one of the sellers, I am a bit concerned.

Thoughts?

He just registered yesterday and has already won 255 auctions, including almost 50 high dollar auctions this morning. Apparently he has paid someone by Paypal, as they just gave him 2 positives. My guess is he hijacked someone's Paypal account. It looks suspicious to me. These thrill bidders seem to pop up more often each summer when school lets out and the kids get bored. If he attempts to pay you by Paypal, I would call the owner of the account and verify that they are indeed the purchaser.

as his seller, you can always pull his contact information and chat with him.
there seems to be a theme there-photography related items-camera,lens,posters /
Once a guy in nyc bidded on my items,i pulled his contact info and found his phone disconnected, reported him to ebay and he was NARU'D.
sometimes, the guy could be in Russia and registered as NYC.you never know.

what venue did you use for reporting him to ebay?

It seems very suspicious that so far they have won everything they bid on, people always get outbid at sometime. It makes you think they must have entered very large bids initially.

use ebay sitemap where you can report to ebay for shill bidding etc.
so far the feedback is from one seller for buying 2 x9.99 movie stuff.
most of his winning items are BUY IT NOW dutch auction.
there are people who are paid to bid-some bids on ivory items and some on electronic goods to be shipped overseas.
This is not a kid bidding,he seems rather sophisticated in photography related items.
call him first before you report him

If I was one of the sellers involved, there is no way I would send the item if they pay by Paypal, before checking with eBay.

I hope you have all put him on your "blocked bidders" list, at this rate he might buy up the whole of eBay!

I wonder when he'll hit the jewelry categories?

Thanks for the reminder, Amber. He's now on my blocked list, not that he'd be interested in any of my silly stuff!

You never know Lucy, I don't think he cares what he bids on. Several lots of breast growth pills, plus other enlargement items! I don't suppose he would be into my craft books, but who knows? Why hasn't eBay shut him down? It's a whole lot of work and delay for lots of sellers to get the fvf's back!!

I'm sure eBay hasnt shut him down yet, cuz he hasnt hit that magic -1, 2 or 3 that it takes to be NARU'd. OR the Sellers just havent had the time to realize WTF is happening. This guy is ending auctions faster than you can refresh your browser. Maybe the _18 is his age or mentality!

Maybe this will be a hard lesson for eBay? They will have a heck of a time refunding all these fees. You should have to post a valid credit card when signing up to be a bidder and then have a limit as to the amount of money you can initially spend. Too many of us are being jerked around by deadbeats and those that like playing games.

Poor babee! Musta wore himself plumb out! He hasnt bid on anything for the past hour. Or maybe his lottery trust fund was gone. I'm sure some of the sellers will be waking up to this awful mess anytime now, and eBay will be flooded with complaints.

This is a case where Ebay needs to get directly involved and shut him down until he's verified. If he's a phony, Ebay should refund 100% of the seller's fees, including insertion, gallery, featured, etc., and pursue the bidder in a civil action for their losses and publicize the hell out of it as a deterent to the next jerk who thinks about trying this. I would imagine the fees involved in this escapade will be pretty substantial when they're all added up and would be worth getting their legal staff involved.

.Cheryl......I don't mean to single you out on this one......but for you and a few others these kind of spree fraud bidders are hardly new to Ebay. I can tell you that in my limited experience(I've run maybe 5000 auctions over 5 years) I've personally had this kind of bidder hit me at least 20 times(recently and 1-2-3-4-5 years ago. Ebay could care less. They collect the FVF and have the float on the money until the refund is issued. It's probably in the millions, and there's probably a 5-10% rate of sellers never filing FVF refund, so Ebay keeps all that money. I do think that a credit card should be required for anyone placing over say 5000 in bids. And an immediate 10% of bid penalty payment to seller on bidders with 0 feedback who are deadbeat would help as well for other newbie bidders. It would be easy enough for Ebay to incorporate this into it's software, as a way of conveying to newbies at the time they place a bid that a bid is a binding contract. And it would eliminate cases like this entirely. But don't hold your breath. All this would help sellers, not Ebay.

I for one am OUTRAGED! Now this kind of nonsense needs to be put to a HALT! We all know e bay NEVER looses and care less if sellers file and ARE most happy when they don't,,,This is a blantant case of their binding contract meaning crap! Well,,,,now is the time for a CLASS action suit or legal notification to e bay. Time to have a chat with the State Attorney Generals Office.

Or someone in the higher echelons of consumer Gov. that anyone else may know of ,,with some BITE!!!!!!

These sellers loose money in a Blatant situation like this and ALL should be refunded 100%......E bay is well aware of this situation I am sure. So they want to sit back and laugh? HA!!!!

E mail those sellers,,,,,Tell them to kick up some dust to Some California Law makers!

E bay makes money either way,,,,,If sellers loose E bay should NOT stand to gain anyway.

E bay is NOT an auction house,,,,,it's a venue to sell products...they have NO rights to collect for sales that were NEVER completed. Would you do that in the REAL World? Hell no! Give me back my money! Nothing was sold you have NO rights to any commissions!

I am sure there is a LAW already on the books and e bay is circumventing it because NO one has Challenged them,,,,,Let the tables turn......

Anyone have the Attorney Generals Phone number handy or the Sacramento Address or even Better their E mail address? please post it....

IF,,,,,,,,,,IF,,,,,enough VOICES are heard,,,,IF,,,,,IF,,,,,,,,,no one bothers,,,the beat will just go right on,,,,,,,E bay Smiles and all is well.

2 cents.........
