Everyone Please check your Ebay accounts.
I just noticed my account bill went from 350.00 overnight to 650.00. they have been deducting monthly. and my total owed never goes down. Now the total just doubled. What are they doing! They never answer any emails.
Does anyone have a number to call? What are they doing?

Mine's been screwed up for several months......you never know what the "balance owed" is gonna show when you hit the "submit' button to list another auction.....it goes up and down like a yo-yo......I've emailed them several times and always get a canned response that they're working diligently to correct it.......kinda scary to deal with a company that you spend so much money with each month that there is no one you can actually talk to about anything.....

Hi Painss,

Are you absolutely sure your account hasn't been hi-jacked? Reason I ask is a friend of mine clicked on a link in a spoof email, unknowingly filled in her info and her account was taken over by someone in Australia.

Fortunately eBay caught it the same day it happened. There were listing fees upwards of $800 posted to her balance. She didn't have to pay, of course, but eBay Naru'ed her until it got straightened out. It was a big fat mess!

No way to tell how many incorrect account balances there are over at eBay, but everyone should check their accounts. Not much you can do - presumably they'll fix the glitch in their billing software but till then there will be a load of folks who can't list, including me.

Personally, I had $100 tacked onto my balance due sometime Thurs. night I think. Lot of folks affected by this, but most probably don't realize it yet.

Hang in there.

I just checked mine and I owe more than I sold. My bill was totally paid up with a credit at the end of the month. (I pay by PayPal) So Now who do I contact? Yks no wonder eBay is doing so good.

My last two invoices were late but okay as far as the amount due. Mine goes to my PayPal. I haven't listed anything lately so I don't know what's going on right now.

I think they'll get it fixed as soon as they can but that doesn't help much if you're in a situation where a higher than normal bill will cause a problem.

Ebay installed new billing software from a new vendor, and apparently the salesman who conned them into buying this junk wasn't aware that it was full of bugs. It's another example of them fixing something that wasn't broken in the first place and calling it an "Enhancement". There is no danger of anyone suffering a financial loss in the long run. Ebay will refund all overpayments when the glitches are ironed out. It's not the thousand Ebay sellers that are being overcharged that they are worried about. It's the 100,000 lawyers watching this situation like a hawk, each one hoping to be the lucky one to file a class action fraud suit and wind up filthy rich in the process if they fail to refund every penny.

In order to soothe a lot of ruffled feathers, it would not surprise me a bit to see Meg and Pierre offer a free listing day in the next week or two.

You can use eBay's 'help' and 'contact us' but they've been unresponsive to my emails thus far. Probably because they've gotten a thousand buckets full of inquiries about account balances.

Meanwhile, everyone loses money because this prevents a lot of new listings. Going on third day now, at least.

Wonder what will happen when their computer starts suspending accounts due to nonpayment.

I sell from Canada, and my invoices come through Switzerland. I have not been able to see in account for almost 2 months, now I can finally see the May one. I like to check them out to make sure I have not been overcharged, and have final value fee credits in place, but it's hard when I keep getting the message that my account is unavailable.

Thanks everyone for your replys. Meanwhile Ebay Keeps dreaming up new ways to quarter, and fifty cent us to death. fifty cents for a subtitle, more money for search words. They should do something to fix their SCREWED up billing ...I will continue to list till the end of the month..After that I will have to wait to see how much I owe. This is crazy. Good night all, and have a great day.

Did get a response from eBay last night on the account balance issue and they said they were 'working hard' to fix the problem and asked for patience and understanding.

Okay. At least they were decent enough to acknowledge the problem. It's a pain for all concerned sure, but all the chat about the SEC, lawsuits and lawyers is a little over the top. Anyone who has worked with computers and software knows that bugs and glitches go with the territory. It's not a perfect world and I'm glad I'm sitting here rather than be the program writers who are probably on a hotseat.

And what is worse, the subtitle option is a total money maker for ebay as it does not show up on title searches. Only in description searches. Makes more sense to list it at no extra cost in your description. Ebay is more and more becoming a con company.
