In April I changed server/e-mail address. Also changed preferences to reflect new address with E-bay, PayPal, AuctionWatch.
Made new address Primary. Have since then not been receiving PayPal Payment notices,
but sometimes didn't receive them anyway, so no bells went off in my head. Now, I notice
all PayPal payments to me are described on the auction page as "Pending" and they are not showing up in my PayPal. Payments are being sent to my old e-mail address. I called PayPal and they say it's not their problem and they can't do anything. Only becomes their problem after the payment is received. Until then, it's an E-bay problem. Ever happened to any of you? Comments, please. I'm off the try to contact e-bay by e-mail. Wish me luck!

The only thing you can do is add that address back to your account. PayPal cannot route members payments to your account just because you ask them to. You probably ought to look at where these people are getting the old address from as well and correct it.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

A couple of years ago that happened to me. It took me months to track down all the places that had my email address. Vendio, Ebay, Paypal, etc. and one of my emails on Vendio still showed the old address.

I'm not sure you can add back the old address to the PP account without having it available to get the confirmation email from PP? Maybe they will let you keep it even if it is unconfirmed? Fenix do you know?

But, when Cox went from lvcm.com to cox.net I learned to never ever delete an email from PP until months passed and I knew everything was coming where it should. I still have one email address on PP and it has not been used for over 2 years. PP won't let me delete it saying it has something like auto notification turned on? And I cannot turn it off so it just sits there

You have my sympathy though. I know it is a mess when it happens like that and you don't even know where people are getting the email address from in the first place.

Try not using Paypal. That should solve your problem.

Linda - you do have to still have access to the acccount to confirm it. It won't give you access to the funds until the address is confirmed. I had a similar problem when I made a typo (shocked aren't you!) when I entered my address into the set-up for a new ebay account.

Hello, to ALL and thks for your replies, especially the E-bay phone number (SANMAR). I called and waited a while, but not too long a wait.
I was told to go to the auction page, find
SELL SIMILAR ITEM, go to No 4 at top of the page which is Payments and Shipping, and
there it was - the old e-mail address. And I thought I had eliminated it by changing all my preferences. NOT SO. It was lurking right there. The only way to resolve the
transactions which show "Unclaimed" in the buyer's PayPal is for buyer to cancel the payment and execute another using my new e-mail address. I could not get back my old e-mail
address. Had canceled the account. Had them overlap for some time, but apparently not long enough. Phoned the company (Compuserve) and asked if I re-activated the account I could retrieve the mail and they said NO way. I thought that was a long shot, but gave it a try. Thought someone might want to know about the old address being KEY
to the transaction and sitting there in
SELL SIMILAR ITEM. I'm a bit of a novice, and would not have known to look there.
