I give up. Lots of problems yesterday and they still continue. I tried to edit my "about me" page on ebay and it disappeared. Never came back. Stupid ebay. I hate them right now. They used to have a "click and build" a while back. That is when I made mine. Now if I try to recreate it, I have to do it solely in HTML code. It will take forever to try to recreate what I did before. I contacted ebay and they said they had a few sellers that had the same problem as I did. Their take on it, "Oh well, I guess you'll just have to build another one" All the rep could do is suggest I write to [email protected] to ask to have the click and build reinstated. He said that once the "about me" is gone, it's gone.

I don't have time for this. Sorry I am just a little upset right now. You all probably think this is pretty petty.

Thanks for letting me vent.

edited to add that you can't file for FVF either. Announcements only say that they are working on "My Ebay" issues. Oh well, time to leave the computer before I reach through and strangle ebay itself.

Paloma, I can feel your pain! This morning I tried to pay for an auction with the Pay button on the item page. The first time it said I was not the winning bidder then it gave me repeated messages that the function was not available. I finally had to log into my PayPal account and pay that way.

At that point I was not feeling too positive about eBay so I might have been unreasonably irritated by PayPal (AKA eBay) when I clicked, as I always do, on the change payment method to change from the default of bank account to my credit card and I got a screen I never saw before that said, in effect, "Hold on there! Are you SURE you want to change to a credit card." and the reasons why the bank payment was better. I clicked yes I do want to change because there was no button to say "I WOULD NOT HAVE ASKED IF I DIDN'T WANT TO CHANGE!" I have looked and can not find a way to set my default to be a credit card. Have I missed something?

Neither of these are major problems, just irritations. Oh well... eBay can't live without 'em so guess we will have to grin and bear it. Thank goodness for Vendio eBay Outlook and a place to vent.

We had a customer say that to us about HIS trying to pay us this morning, too! 'you are not the winning bidder...'

<i>He said that once the "about me" is gone, it's gone.</i>

That may not be true. I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I had no me page for over a week. I contacted ebay about it maybe 30,000 times...I was so frustrated. I got the usual can reply each time "we are aware of the "About Me" problem and are currently working to resolve it, blah blah blah.

Anyway the night before the day I was going to redo a new one...it came back. Go figure.
I don't know what to tell you but maybe there is a chance it will resolve itself.
Sorry you are dealing with this, I know how infuriating it can be.

photo -

I have always gotten that friendly "double-check sure you want to do this??" page when changing the payment method.

If you are Paypal verified with a bank account, you cannot change the default payment method to credit card.

And if you have balance in your Paypal Account, you will be forced to use that first - no choice at all.

been there, tried that, hate that!

Bummer! I was afraid of that. I will continue to switch as long as they allow. I just don't think they should direct the way I manage my finances. As long as it is within the rules I will make the switch to my credit card.

This is terrible. We all pay good money to Ebay and look how they treat us and the quality of service! They Improve their site by taking away atleast one really usable feature that would help novice HTML'ers like myself create an "about me" page (the click and build thing). Then they "OOPS" and the About me page as well as many other basic features Like paying for an auction disappear!

Any other company would start going down hill very fast with this kind of service BUT oh Butt Bay is now world wide! Won't hurt them in the least if we up and quit!

It just makes me so so darn mad!

Thanks again for letting me vent

Makes me glad that I don't offer that button. I make all PayPal'ers log into their account and pay that way. If they want to use it, let them do the work.
