Hi glass-smart ones! Have this 100-ish year old glass pitcher, am wondering if any of you know the pattern name and/or origin ... in a ring around the bulbous area, enclosed in an upper and lower 3-tight-bands pattern, are what I think is called acanthus leaves (2 adjoining at the stems), each of those are separated by flowery thing inside of a diamond shape. It has an applied handle, and I can see, especially when looking at the bottom, that it was a 3-part mold (3 seams) ... 8" tall and 8" handle-to-spout ... thanks in advance to any of you able and willing helpers out there.

My only suggestion on the pitcher is to get hold of as many Pattern Glass books as you can. I haven't found pressed/pattern glass easy to identify. Mainly because of the number of patterns and poor quality of the reference books. Hope somebody else can help you.

I looked in a few of my books but I don't see that exact pattern. I'll check a couple more of them tomorrow and let you know if I find it.

Your pattern is shown in the book "Glass in Canada" by Thomas B. King and it is called Hops Band.

It was patented for the King & Son Company of Pittsburgh in 1871 and was originally called "Maple".

It looks like a beautiful quality glass so good luck with it.
