Why would a seller choose to make an auction "private"? I bought a Disney snowglobe for my daughter and got nice feedback from the seller, but where the auction number should be it says "private"!! People are going to think I am buying x-rated stuff if they read that!

edited because I can barely speak much less type ..trying to crank out the FP listings. A real horror show since Vendio doesn't have a bulk edit function. UGH!

I suppose you could put in a comment under the feedback they left for you. But I'm sure nobody is really thinking the worst...well, maybe a little.

It is a very effective way to avoid other sellers interfering in your auctions. Some catagories are quite cut throat and one way to avoid having third party sellers contact your bidders is to make your auctions private.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
