Received another spoof this morning. Could have fooled me, except I have become very gunshy with these. This one even used the PayPal logo!! "We have recently reviewed your account & suspect that your PayPal account may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. Protecting the security of your account and of the PayPal network is our primary concern. Therefore, we as a preventative measure, we have temporairily limited access to sensitive PatPal account features. Please click on the link below confirm your information.'
It goes on from there with more BS & is signed by the PayPal Fraud Mangement Team
Sent this to spoof & got answer back confirming that this was indeed a spoof. Really slick with the P/P logol & using a secure site (https)

That is a good one all right. I think I can trump it though. I just got this in my email and I sent it to spoof@ebay they replied that it was not legit in about 1 hour. I mean actually replied not just the "Thank you for emailing us" But the whole "This did not come from ebay." routine. I copied the html and saved it to my web space so you all could see it. I have not changed anything at all just a copy and paste of the html.

It is a doozy.

Damn, Adrian, they are really getting sophisticated. All we can do is be really cynical & never believe any of them. I will let eBay.P/P determine what is legit.

Hi Sanmar,
I know what you mean. I checked the html to see where the links led but even that did not tell me much. I still have not clicked on the links yet. Who knows what little surprises are lurking at the other end? Maybe someone with a Mac can have a look? Roadsmith? In any case I just sent it on coz I couldn't tell for sure apart from the fact that there were links in the email to "confirm my details".
Warm Regards,
Adrian

I have two or three of these, but Yahoo dumped them into my spam folder, unlike my other yahoo correspondence.
I just found them, normally I dump the folder without a glance, but in Yahoo's vigilance, they might "spamify" a bidder, so I peeked.
I forwarded it to [email protected].
