Just curious if anyone can tell me how to add a tag line to the end of my postings here?

One more question...

If I want to add an image, how would I do that? I've never done this on vendio, so it's all new to me.

You are speaking about a "tag" line here on Vendio, right? Not eBay, correct?

Personally, I can't figure out what form "Vendio" is using, part of it is UBB, but not all of the UBB Coding, in actuality what type of coding is Vendio using in the message area? :FREAK:

Rustygumby:

just do image tags as normal:

[*img]theURLofYERpicHERE[*/img]

remove astericks & voila!

I don't know how accurate this is, but this is a link to a page with UBB coding, which in my opinion, is absolutely stupid, as some of the endings have a / prior to the end code and some don't. There doesn't appear to be much consistency. Personally, I prefer HTML.

Rusty, there was an extra "break" in between the end of the picture URL and the end tag. I tested and here it is:

<*br />
[/img*]

That's what showed up as typed by you when I veiwed the "source code" for the page here.
somehow that extra <*br /> was in there. I added the asterisks so it would display here for you to see.

it should have been:

[*img]http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/ru/rustygumbo/blindmelonc.jpg[/img*]

but without the asterisks.

Good luck,
Patty

AHA! Maybe I've found the right place to ask this question.

I have a sig on the SpareDollar forum that I would like to use here, too, but it doesn't work the same way here.

Could someone please tell me how to get this to include the hyperlink to the store that it does on SD?

onetrack,

What you wrote above is in HTML. It won't work here. The boards here use UBB code. Go to "My Account" in Vendio and edit your signature line.

Use the follwing format to place a link here in the boards or in your signature line, leaving out the asterisks:

[*url]PUTyourURLaddressHERE[*/url]

Here is a link that was posted in another thread in the last few days to a page with basic UBB code info:

koto,

I have some that are even better than the one from Vendio, and they all work here. I got them way back on these boards.

This one is the best of the ones I have:

http://mysmilies.com/

Here are more:

http://www.emoticons4u.com/index.htm

http://www.sinn-voll.de/agif/smileys.php

And here's a page with links to a lot of sites that give you various smilies:

That should keep you busy!

OK, folks. This is weird. The third try of my sig is what I want, but when I put it in the Preferences, it didn't come out that way. I've ended up just showing the link, which is not what I wanted to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for all your trouble over a stupid sig, but I hate it when I can't figure something out.
Also, how do I get a break before the sig, so it's not smushed up against the post?

One track, you wrote the two differently.

The way I you tell is by looking at the source code for this page. In Windows, you can right-click on this page and pick "View Source".

The UBB codes you used are converted to hypertext, so it may be more than you want to look at. But it really can help one figure out what went wrong.

Your posts are near the bottom of this page, so scroll down and look for the wording you typed. You will see that the two signature lines were written differently.

If you copy and paste both into a word processor, they are easier to look at. Better yet, once you get it right, put the correct one (again in UBB code) into a word processor file on your computer and save it for later use.

Good luck,
Patty

onetrack, great!
I see you got it. Now it only needs <*br>'s (breaks) in between the three parts? (leave out the "*"

I really don't mind it all being on one line, but I would like to have a space before the sig starts, and also some horizontal space between the 3 parts.

testing...
Well, <*br> didn't work, and neither did[*br], so what am I doing wrong NOW? By the way, why do you have to use the * when you post these codes?
