After Five years of selling I have given it all up. Why? In the last month I have had more deadbeat bidders and negative feedbacks than I had in my first 4 and 1/2 years. Ebay has gone to hell.

Can't help you with deadbeats, but can about negative FB.
Don't neg deadbeats, to a lot of sellers their FB is not all that important, yours is, they retaliate & for a seller they are not worth the risk to your FB. I would never risk mine for a deadbeat.

File for FVF & NARU them.

AND. . . . I just looked at my "unpaid disputes" or whatever the H they're calling it now. I'll have to start over on an NPB I had started the process on about 10 days ago. Duhhh. WHY do they do these things?!

I with mcjane - filing for FVF is the only thing that will get rid of these deadbeat.
I dream every night that someone will come along with a new auction site that will give ebay a run for OUR money??

You're kidding right ? Some of these NPBs must have 50 IDs on eBay.

Readmond and THAT is what REALLY makes all this ONE BIG Joke. Buyers can do this ALL DAY LONG,,,if a SELLER screws up....well, we all know.

I agree with the other post. Get a fee to bid on e bay. Like the Costco thing. A membership fee and that goes for EVERY account signed up for! that will end this lunacy.

Ah, why oh why do we waste our time, e bay cares less. they get our listing fees and such,,,,,

E bay,,if you have even the slightest of anyone READING these boards, this one, Vendio,,,Please, please......

ah never mind.....

I hate to spoil your ebay has gone to hell thread, but the best way to deal with negs is not to give one to buyers. Yeah, we've been there before on this board about the topic, but my goal is to reduce unfair negs to me. Another way is if you get one, leave one back. I've had 2 withdrawn this way. Sorry to all the altruistic sellers out there, but I am not on ebay for you, I am on ebay for myself. Negatives hurt sellers, not buyers.

As far as deadbeats, sorry, but they existed LONG before ebay. I was doing auctions 10 years (both via mail and online before ebay) before I joined ebay in 1997, and deadbeats existed before ebay, they exist on ebay, and they will exist after ebay.

Folks start, folks leave, and honestly, years ago I use to get in the middle of every eBay up evil, and threatened “strike.” But in time I discovered, it didn't matter what I thought, or others thought, that when you are dealing with "independent" operators/sellers, they are almost impossible to organize, therefore trying to rise up against eBay in any impressive mass is basically a pointless waste of time and energy. You either find ways to make the eBay system viable for you, or you leave.

There was a time (about 3 years ago) when Yahoo was giving eBay a run for its money, and we hadn't sold on eBay for a year. THEN Yahoo decided to commit auction suicide, and that was the last big threat I see/saw eBay had.

The only other viable auctions I’ve found are niche/specialty auctions for items eBay doesn’t carry (guns, knives, etc).

Of course there is always your own web site, but THAT is a totally different subject.

This is GREAT!

That only leaves 14 of us sellers on eBay.

Soon I'll be the ONLY ONE LEFT!

Then, finally, I can stop sending all of these evil never-ending-change-things-for-the-better suggestions to my special contact at eBay: M.E.G. (My Ebay Guru)

You vote by walking. That is the only thing that will get Ebay's attention.
Stared as a seller on ebay Sept 1998
I walked in Feb 2004.
Feels GREAT!
