Are they UP, or are they down. All these enhancements MUST be enhancing something or e bay would not bother.

Enhancing eBay's pocket somehow, in their opinion. Would the standardization and our browsers caching the pages save them server space somehow? With millions of auctions, perhaps they think standardization will cut back on the room required to store it all?

Just a speculation. They only make changes they THINK will improve profitability.

My sales were down so far that I decided to take a week or two off. I usually have 5 auctions close per day (books), and usually 3-5 of them sell each day. But the last few weeks I've been lucky if one of the five sell. Sooo...taking a bit of time off.

Bunni--my book sales are 'way off, too. I'm just continuing to list so I can build up some feedback in my new account. Such a chore.

Before the 4th of July I was doing great...since then my sales have dropped dramatically. So there is less eBay time...and more lake time! My two labs and my cat (Captain Tiggy) get on the old pontoon and go drifting around...thinking of more ways to get rich on eBay, then laughing hysterically.

I was just thinking how others sales have been since the 4th, and was glad to see this thread go up. Now wait a minute before you blast me....not glad your sales are down...just glad to hear mine haven't dropped like a bomb because of something I was doing different.

I haven't really changed anything for awhile though because it was working for me before the 4th, but might either drop out for a bit, or rethink some new strategy for a bit. How do you think sales might be for awhile during summer?

Is it a good idea just to wait till school starts back up? Or what are your experiences? I know it does depend on what your selling, but I would suppose all vendors have some slow down, as do others.

I suppose if I don't put up auctions, I can keep reading threads for "Blonde" jokes, etc. Does beat bordom! Glad I'm not blond!

I don't know about you but eBaying is addictive. I have tried to stop and find out I can't! Sales are down a bit but it always happens in the summer. There are so many other things to do. I try to remember to have my auctions end a little later, sometimes that helps. I also try to list the same type of things year around (not saving the 'best' for the fall and winter season). I find that I sabotage myself if I only put lesser things up during slow times. Of course, don't put up the really expensive items if you find they are not moving by researching closed auctions! I even list some Christmas things in the summer.

I think you are right pmelcher. Not listing, or saving your better things for Fall, creates slower sales. A self fulfilling prophecy!

I actually have been surprised at the strength of sales this summer. The past two years I decided that sales would not be strong until people were sick of the nice weather and guess what?? they weren't! This year, the two FP listing sales offered by eBay forced me (ok no one was twisting my arm) to list en masse and the results were good if not great.

Sure, I get cranky about some of the changes but I've learned it's better to try to learn how to deal with them than to waste a lot of energy complaining about them.

We are just players on the field and eBay owns the ball and writes the rules.
