Hi: I've just taken selected pictures from the large cards to give you an idea of what I have here. Y'all, give me your advice, please, on whether to sell them by the card or as a group (about 11 cards in all). Thanks!

Hi,

I don't know anything about buttons other than that they magically exist on stuff to keep it closed...

That said, these look like sample cards to me. Like what a salesman might take to a shop for ordering. Any clue as to age?

Lucy

Lucy: The only clue to age is that they were in an antique shop, way back in the corner. They do look like salesman's samples to me.

Paloma, thank you for the links! I do appreciate it.

Most of the buttons are metal. I'm guessing some are "opaque gold"? from the Spanish words labeling them.

So would you list them separately by card or in groups?

Those are really nice! I do think some of them, if not all of them, are salesmen samples, which make them very interesting. I don't think I would put them all in the one group but maybe a couple of cards together. (Of course I want them all in one group, really cheap, but don't listen to the evil twin who wrote this sentence.} You should do well with them. If the cards have 25 or so buttons, one at a time would probably sell nicely.

Thank you for the links to button sites, I love to look at them.

Not antique, not old. Tiger Button Co. was established in 1968.

(Look at the bottom of some of your cards; it has the company name and address.)

iareateacher: Thank you for the info on Tigress. It's good to know the buttons on that card aren't that old. Probably none of the buttons are very old, but I'm thinking they'll be wanted by someone for their decorative qualities. I'll sell them in the fall.

Thanks for your thoughts, everybody!
