got a quick question..
received a package today from a seller who also use endicia.. received the generated email from him informing me that the item has been shipped on July 7.. of course being only electronic delivery confirmation, the status only says "..expect your package for delivery.." it doesnt let you really know when it has been mailed.
it was shipped via Media Mail, and I just received it today, August 6, almost a month later.
I understand media mail gets quite slow sometimes, but usually it takes a week or two at most, no?
on the box, I couldn't find any postmark from the postal office, just a barcode sticker ontop of the endicia with my zipcode, and the following numbers "LAX1112180338"
here's a picture:
anyways I just wanted to know when it was actuall shipped, or does that sticker somehow indicate maybe a possible third party shipping this? I duno. I just didnt like the fact that I had to wait forever and didnt get a single respond back from the seller.
I know the feedback system is practically useless, but Id still like to give some accurate feedback so that it may be able to help a few people that actually takes it into consideration.

My post office postmarks them. They use the little round stamp with the date on them when I take them in.
You aren't supposed to print postage ahead of time and then not ship on the date it says. If you are delayed shipping you are supposed to print a postage label with the updated date and the price of $0 on it. I realize not everyone would do this but most post offices should catch it if it's saying July 6th and they didnt' mail it until like July 26th or something. My PO would catch it. I think they get irritated that I use an outside service.

THAT sticker in the upper RIGHT is obscuring the DATE!!
OF COURSE postage printed by ENDICIA has to have the date on it!!!!!
If you are off date, then you are susposed to print a RE-DATE sticker which goes UNDER the original sticker!!
THERE is NO diff between using ENDICIA or USPS CLINK N SLIP or others!
AND, YES, media mail can take a month!
I've had MEDIA go to CA from FL in FOUR DAYS! I've also had MEDIA go from JAX to MIAMI in 5 weeks!
AGAIN, we go around with DELIVERY CONFIRMAT which is NOT a tracking number, so, whatever the scans online say, the info is MEANINGLESS except for the FINAL SCAN!
REPEAT, as the USPS DECLARES: DELIVERY CONFIRMATION, whether eDC or RETAIL DC, is NOT A TRACKING NUMBER & PROVIDES NO TRACKING
eDC & RETAIL DC provide only: CONFIRMATION (not proof) of DELIVERY
If you want tracking -- use REGISTERED mail for ooodles of MOOLA

And, BTW, NO, they do not POSTMARK anybody's indicia, as the DATE IS ALREADY THERE! And pm's would OBSCURE the indicia!

okay thanks, I always thought they postmark even the indicia. guess not.
Im just wondering if anyone has seen any sticker like that. the sticker does block the date, which when peeled off does say July 7, I was just hoping I can somehow find out if its postmarked or not. or if it was actually shipped on the 7th or not.
and I already know that DC isnt tracking.
although it does have some form of tracking, when it gets in the city or state, it gets scanned. and when it leaves the headquarter facility of the city or county, its also scanned.
anyhow the item finally arrived I suppose. wish I knew I could have just paid $3 for priority mail.. didnt see it specified in the auction. argh.

I had one book, yes one little book, that was bound for New Mexico and it ended up in NJ, then took a trip all the way back here and then went to NM. As luck would have it, they were scanning it at different locations. All of this took almost one month for it to go just over 200 miles. I was joking with the seller that I should have walked it to her and it would have gotten there sooner. I have also had media mail arrive just as quickly as priority. Go figure.

My Media Mail stuff arrives a lot faster when I use Endicia than when I go through the regular PO. I dont know if it has to do with them not looking at the type of mail it is (Priority/Media, etc) or what.
But my PO DOES postmark my packages when I take them in. I watched them do it today when I mailed a batch of packages.
