I went to manually add a repeat offender to my blocked bidder list and...

POOF! All gone. Blank screen. Nuthin' there.

Sure, I've got a backup but it's an old one.

Better check, guys, to see if yours is still intact.

Looks like eBay cannot even get the simplest of things right.

Mine's fine. Matter of fact, I just added a couple of names to it.

Well, I'm on the line with "Brooke" of Live Help (real name Poonam Watusaymynameis), and here's the play by play.

iareateacher: I went to add an offending bidder to my blocked bidder list this morning, but it has vanished. There are NO entries now. There used to be about 100. Please tell me how to get it back.
Your chat session has started..
Brooke: Welcome to Live Help! My name is Brooke. Please give me just a moment to read your question.
Brooke: Oh, I see. What is your registered email address with eBay? And I can take a look.
iareateacher: [email protected]
Brooke: Thanks.
Brooke: When was the last time you added someone to your blocked bidder list?
iareateacher: Not sure. It hasn't been recently. Probably about two weeks ago.
Brooke: Ah, okay. I'm afraid there was an issue on the site awhile back and member's lists were deleted. The problem has since been fixed, but there isn't a way to retrieve the ID's from before. I'm so sorry about that.
iareateacher: Lovely. This is the second time it's happened. I'll warn the rest of the world. Thanks.
Brooke: I know it's frustrating. I'm so sorry.

I don't know if she's referring to the massive Bidder Block List purge from months ago, or what. I update my BBL generally every couple weeks.

try logging in under the correct name...

Since all my seller IDs have BBLs, that hardly seems an issue.

Did they all disappear? All the lists, I mean.

I know you've posted about this in the past but mine has always been intact.

Puzzling...

I added one to mine this morning. Everything was fine. I have never lost my list. Now that I said that, it will probably disappear this afternoon.

No, just the one. I wish I had gone ahead with my plan to have a master BBL offline that I would copy to each seller ID everytime it gets updated.

Gtootie: No time like the present to make a backup, but I'm sure you've thought of that already.

In fact, it might be worthwhile just to have one seller ID that does nothing but keep track of these BBLs and seller preferences.

That way, if the house burns down or your disk crashes, you still have an offsite copy of the list.

Sorry, I know this seems anal, but I was trained in disaster recovery. Everything useful should be backed up offsite; you never know what might happen.

My BBL has been years in the making. I STILL have flake-o bidders from four years ago (can you believe it?) who are trying to bid on my stuff.

I've lost mine twice, now I keep a Word file and when I add a name to my BBL, I add it to the file too, that way I can re-list it when necessary. I found a lot of my old ones by going over the negs (I used to leave them for NPB's) so I could add those again.

A friend of mine said her BBL had disappeared this week too. She had just added someone to the list last week and it was all there. The person she added came through and bought several dollars worth of her stuff this week....so she went to double check and make sure the name was on the list. Her BBL list was completely gone.

Needless to say...she's a little more than irate and probably out $50+!
