Toasted you are the one into ashtrays, right? Look what I got today!! I was just so thrilled...(doesnt take much )

When I was a teenager Mateus was 'the cool' wine to be drinking. - I remember it got you drunk real fast without realizing it, and I usually wound up getting sick from drinking it! haha!

I also got a dog ashtray [a dog or a bull? where the mouth is the sit piece and the smoke comes out its nostrils?? - I think it may be mccoy pottery or one of them - looks like it! Have to look around about it.)

I will probably just want to admire it for a few days, then I will list it if youre interested. [not trying to solicit you, just saying if you do like it].

Anybody else drink this wine alot back in the 70ties?? okay, its no two-buck chuck jack...lol!!

That is one interesting ashtray. Good for you! Yes, we drank that bilge, too.

Roads, I guess it goes to show when teenagers are told something is cool, then its cool - no matter what, ya know? I think I preferred the sangria but Matuse was "it" with the crowd or something! lol.

Lancers! Thunderbird! Ah, it brings back redolent memories.

I've told this before but. . . . when I was learning to cook in the 60s, as a new bride, I had Sunset recipes that called for red wine. Coming from teetotaling ministers' families, both of us, we didn't drink - then. (Made up for it later on!) I had no clue and was working with a very small food budget. So I checked out the grocery store counters in Berkeley and bought - tadaaaa - Gallo Ripple. I cooked with that junk for about 5 years before we both got wise.

Ripple!! Now you're bringing back memories. Red Foxx's favorite cocktail was Coke and Ripple. He called it a cripple.

Well...I don't need to be "toasted" to think that's cool! We put candles in the wine bottles after we emptied them. Class up a place with little/no money!

We drank alot of Boone's Farm before we moved up to grain punch in college. I no longer drink sloe gin, thanks to getting really sick once.

Hey Toasted! That is a cool novelty ashtray, too!! Thanks about the smoker. I looked them up on ebay. One I have just closed @ 5.99 no bids! lol!! Maybe they do better in winter or something? Anyway ya win some, lose some with gs finds, right?

Was so tired last night. I went GS hopping from like 9 to 430!! Now I gotta get my butt in gear and start listing!!.....

Lucy, I would like to try the two-buck chuck. Not that I've looked, but I bet they dont carry it down here on the southern east coast. I dont really drink just no desire for it and shopping is enough of a bad habit! but every once in a while its nice to relax with a good drink. I am going to see if its around down here. You guys talk about it so much - must be somen'in to it!
