niel35: You might as well forget getting any help here. Most are too busy moving their political views from the RT to this board. Since I have given up on selling on eBay, I'm sorry that I can't help you. In my experience, don't hold your breath waiting for eBay to help you. It ain't goin' to happen.

Actually, niel, that sounds like a browser problem with javascript.
Have you killed/restarted your browser?
If that didn't work, have you powercycled (turned off/on) your computer?
If you use IE, download Firefox (it's reeeeeally easy) and see if you have the same problem.

I recently had a problem that caused me to re-load Mozilla. They seem to have up-dated the platform and it is even smoother. Plus I finally put out a little effort and down-loaded the plug-ins. Sweet.

Received an email from EBay this morning and they gave me explicit instructions on going to Internet Options, settings, view files and deleting all files in the window - expecially the cookies. I was able to delete the cookies but the rest are http something or other and they don't seem to want to be deleted.
I closed the browers, restarted and also did a hard reboot and still the completed stays on with the X and also sort doesn't happen with the listings.
I have Stopzilla to block popups. Isn't that the same thing?
Yes, I am on IE. What exactly is Firefox? what does it do??
thanks for your help, people

niel: Firefox is a browser like IE except a much improved browser over IE. It does many more things than IE. It is being recommended in all the latest computer books. MAXIMUM PC named it their favorite software application for 2003.
One magazine says Mozilla Firefox is a "full featured, immensely expandable web browser that quite simply kicks a**."
edited for spelling.

Of interest to eBay sellers should be the fact that Firefox makes it both easy and safe to save your eBay userid and password.
No more typing in your password, over and over and over and over!
Firefox ROCKS!

thanks guys, I will wait until my computer guy comes over and let him install it. I get in trouble every time if I try to do something myself. They always come up with a question, I can't answer. Dumb as hell on this stuff.
