Just to let anyone know who's interested, we recently switched our payment method on BidPay to a direct deposit, instead of having that service mail us money orders as before. Once we changed this option, ALL of our customers orders for payment have been getting DENIED with no reason given. This has happened repeatedly and for customers in all locations, US and abroad.

We changed the option back to money orders to see if this solves the problem and are waiting for a new BidPay order to come in to see if it works. Just our guess, but it looks like the new direct deposit option has a bug in it that is causing the payment denials. We have several inquiries into BidPay on this but have yet to get a response. Of course there is no phone number listing on the site for customer service either.

Anyone else been experiencing this problem?

YES!

I've NEVER had a denial in 5 years and now (since switching to direct-D), have had TWO in past month!

Although one person re-submitted & it went through...

Sword...Bidpay's number is 1-800-350-5952. Give them a call and suggest they upgrade from a Commodore 64 to an IBX PC-XT. That should solve the problem.

Many thanks for the phone number. Of course they claim that it has nothing to do with the direct deposit option. Instead, they say that they are having actual humans review each transcation and they are scrutinizing them more closely. They say it has to do with me only having initials for the "pay to" name, as the business owner, which I am not sure if I buy or not.

We'll see if it makes any difference or not on the next one...

All Bidpay transactions are reviewed by a real person. I had a problem last year with trnasactions being denied because all of the auctions were Private Auctions. I called them and a notation was made on my account and there was no longer a problem. At the time I was also selling under two different IDs, one for the US one for the UK, the UK had lower feedback and so transactions were being denied on that basis. I called them, let them know about the other account, they saw the feedback on that one, made a note on the UK ID and everything was ok. If the p[roblem continues for you, call back and ask to speak with a supervisor. Ask the supervisor if they can make a note on your account regarding your name so that it does not continue to be an issue.

BTW - As Christmas nears, they get REALLY backed up! Delays last year were up to 10 days in getting something approved. I found that if you give them a call and arereally nice and sympathetic to their overburdened work load (IOW - kiss their rears) they will push at least a few of your pendings up in the priority ranking.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
