That is terrific Sanmar. Did the rapiers come with the uniforms? If so, you might want to say so in your auction.

I would also do seperate close ups of the handles and blades. Sword collectors want to see the details there.

Might add something like "WWI era".

Hi all,

Congrats Sanmar! Very good!

Just one thing... Ummm... ummmm... now I understand why in another thread someone suggested Sanmar talk to me about aebleskiver! Okay so I'm dense...

Sanmar, your GRISWOLD APPLE BAKER/EGG COOKER ain't an apple baker nor is it an egg cooker.

It's an aebleskiver pan. Trust me. Unless you really, truly want me to dredge up that old thread where Fluffy was stoutly defending her incorrect but nonetheless unquestionable opinion that an antique escargot cooker was for aebleskiver. That is until I posted this picture of one in action on my stove.

I know! I'll invite Sanmar and his friend down to Solvang for an aebleskiver brunch.

Edited to add... or up to San Luis Obispo.

Hey Ltray - bid on Sanmar's pan.

I'll teach you how to make them.

They are really good. Better than pancakes because they stay hot longer.

I used to make them when we were camping. Would impale three or four on a bamboo skewer and hand it out the door to whichever kid/husband/mom/dad was in need.

Lucy; After perusing 2 books on cast iron pieces, the only description that came up was "Apple Baker/Egg Poacher" I know what an Abelskiver is, I lived in a Danish Community for 5 years. In Viborg, SD. I love abeskivers!!

Just think how Items # 2286123656 and 2286123662 would go if you didn't have the extra "w" in the title....anyone searching WWI or World War I by title/ description instead of category won't find you.

I'm also having a lot of early bids on my auctions...and am delighted! I wonder if the eBay ads are having an affect on the bidding public? Speaking of the ads, I'm pretty impressed with them...

I think GG should bid too. Once they get the bidding war going, MsLucy can post a recipe for aebleskiver and make her 2nd million.

PS, MsLucy, love the stove. I can see why you are going to give it a fcelift instead of replacing it. They don't make 'em like that anymore. Least not under 2K.
