A 10-year-old grilled cheese sandwich said to bear the image of the Virgin Mary has been sold for £15,000.

GoldenPalace.com, an online casino, placed the winning bid on internet sale site e-Bay after executives vowed to spend "as much as it took" to secure ownership of the part-nibbled snack.
Diana Duyser, from Hollywood, Florida, said she took one bite after making the sandwich 10 years ago and saw a face staring back at her.
She put the sandwich in a clear plastic box with cotton wool and kept it on her bedside table. Miss Duyser, a jewellery designer, claims the sandwich has never gone mouldy.
E-Bay initially pulled the sale, fearing a joke, but restored the page after talking to Miss Duyser.
GoldenPalace.com said it planned to use the sandwich to raise money for charity.

Darnit, where did I put my frying pan? Let's see, a couple of slices of bread, some cheese, a bit of artful finger rearranging while its soft, and presto, in 2114 I'll be rich! Yee-haw~!

GoldenPalace.com got a bargain. There is no way any company could get that kind of advertising during prime time on all the major networks, plus the newspaper and internet advertising for a mere $28,000 if they hired an ad agency. That sandwich will make them millions.
