After one someone brought up the ebay store where the owner had added the additional html allowing for additional inventory catagories I finally today got around to doing the same for my store.
Copied the HTML off the the standard left navigation box.
Identified the additional search catagories that I wanted to enable.
Added custom code to each of my store items that would make them appear in various searches.
Added the search coding link to each catagory. Pasted it all in to the appropriate box
Viewed the preview.
Futzed with the code to make it look just right.
HIt save....
WHAT? Hey... not fair... someone should have warned me ahead of time that there is a 10k size limit. 2 hours to get everything exactly how I wanted to appear and then it turns out the file is nearly twice the size it is allowed to be.
Done now but that took another hour and BTW - it says 10K but don't try to insert more than about 9.7 or you still get error messages.
(Still have about 4 or 5 hours of work adding the code to items that I have to add to the store but when all i said and done this should be well worth the effort. Especially since I can also put that inventory search list into my listing template to more aggresively push customers to the store.)
Just think. Tomorrow I get to do the whole thing all over again for my other store.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I do all of my html in GoLive. I suck at writing pure code... too many typos
