I have a buyer in France who want to pay me by Western Union Money Transfer, she has found the address of my local supermarket, and says I can pick up the cash there. This is something that I have never done, and have no knowledge of. I don't take Paypal from International buyers, and now that Bidpay have restricted some credit cards, a lot of buyers can't use it. Can anyone tell me if this is a safe way to accept payments? Any precautions I need to take?

I've accepted a few in the past -- very SAFE for the SELLER, but very EXPENSIVE for the buyer.

I go over to the WU depot near my apt & they cut a check after ya give them the NUMBER & secret word -- they will also CASH their own check immediately for me.

Can't see any downside for a SELLER, but doesn't appear to be a bargain for a BUYER

Thanks Tom, I guess I will tell her I am willing to accept it. Payment options are limited for International buyers, especially if they want the item quickly.

From time to time I will have an international buyer ask if they can bid on my auctions (TOS states only buyers from the United States)and I tell them the ONLY form of payment that I will accept from international buyers is a Western Union Money Transfer. It is totally safe for seller, but very expensive for the buyer. I never have to worry about a chargeback though!

(edited 'cuz I just can't spell this morning!)

The only downside is the time you spend waiting in line to collect your cash. Once you get it, there is no charge backs or anything to worry about.

Hi Rob, I don't think I will have to wait in line for long. I live in a little town of 2,500, and the agent is my little local grocery store!
