I know this subject has been covered before but I just want someone else to verify what I think. I sold several items to a bidder in Austria. Now I am getting an email wanting me to send them as a "gift", with value amount as not more than 40 euro (am not sure how much that is)and not have it as a purchase from ebay. I don't feel very comfortable doing this and think it is not quite right. I am wondering what you would do if presented with this. Thanks to all you wonderful people who are so nice about helping.

First I wouldn't sell to Austria. Now that you have I would politely tell the buyer that it is illegal to falsify postal documents and even though you would like to assist you can not break international law. If they don't like that cancel the bid and move on.

You should live in mortal fear of the Austrian Customs Police coming to take you away after robbing their government of a piece of your customers money of course. What were you thinking?

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
