My son bought a copy of Gone With The Wind on eBay for his daughter Stacy\'s 16th birthday.
GWTW is her favorite movie so he knows she will love the book.
He wants to write something on the inside cover & can\'t come up with anything so he called me. I can\'t either.
He then asked me if I could go to "that place" where I get all my infomation & good ideas & of course that place is EO.
So I am asking for much needed help & suggestions. If this were you what would you write.
Please, any words or ideas would be appreciated & very welcome.

He should write something about as she goes through life there will be good times and bad times, ups and downs. To never let the bad times get her down, to never give up on her dreams and to always follow her heart. Because "Tomorrow is another day".
He'll have to read the last page of the book and get the exact wording. I don't remember it exactly what she said.
Be kind. Everyone is fighting their own secret battles.

I wasn't finished on my post - don't know what happened! lol
This is my second favorite...
"I don't know nothin' bout birthin' babies."
But my all-time favorite is....
"You should be kissed and often and by someone who knows how."
But don't think your son would really want to write that in a book to his 16-year daughter! LOL!

So many of the famous quotes are a little risque. The one of her father that she hears a few times throughout the book/movie is really a nice one, and your son could probably exchange the word "land" for something else...
"Why, land is the only thing in the world worth workin' for, worth fightin' for, worth dyin' for, because it's the only thing that lasts. It will come to you, this love of the land."
Had to look it up to get it right

Okay, mcjane - it's Friday night and I should be working on listings; but thanks to this thread I am now watching the movie LOL!
Actually fast-forwarding through some of the parts, and came across a great line by Ashley to Scarlett...
"I never want you to be anything but completely happy."
I love this movie!

Wgm's last suggestion is great. I also like dadofstickboy's suggestion a whole lot.

Roadsmith dad's suggestion was good, just went back & read it again.
Also love your signature line.
wgm Me too, my favorite movie & book.
Sorry to keep you from listing, but GWTW is worth it you can never see it too many times.
My granddaughter surprized me when she said this was her favorite movie, wouldn't expect that from a sixteen year old. She also asked for Scarlett, had no idea she ever knew it existed. Ever read that book, I did & it's not bad, I liked it. Just seems like it takes forever for Rhett to show up in the beginning of the book.
Some really great ideas here, I sent Rob a link to the thread so he's reading it & loving every post. He lives in Maryland, I'm in Pennsylvania.
Tomorrow is Stacy's sweet sixteen birthday party.

My motto has always been ( don't have the book so can't say the exact quote): "I don't want to think about that now. I'll worry about that tomorrow". Seriously.

My favorite book! I just finished reading it yet again. I would put something like:
"Take this lesson from Scarlett: Success isn't measured in the amount of money one has in life, but rather the amount of friends and loved ones determines a persons true worth."
Or something like that ...

wgm- Substitute the word love for land. "Love is the only thing in the world worth workin' for, worth fightin' for, worth dyin' for..etc...."
cherished- I like the reference to the "Beauty of Scarlett and the Sweetness of Melanie".
To my darling daughter on her 16th birthday, who exhibits the beauty of Scarlett and the sweetness of Melanie, always remember:
Love is the only thing worth workin' for,....etc.
Life will always throw you a curve. When it does remember, "Tomorrow is another day".
