I am considering a yahoo store, about $40/month but only a 1.5% transaction fee. Under the new ebay structure, for me that will be between $250 to $300, as opposed to $70 with yahoo. I may give it a try and run both, I know traffic is the big issue, but I think I can generate a lot of that myself. We'll see, have to think about other options because the next ebay fee increase which I think will see either the listing fee increase or the addition of a GTC fee will price me out of that market.

(edited to say yahoo store not ebay store)

I just wanted to say that I've Googled up Yahoo stores numerous times when I'm shopping online for something - and I would have no hesitation buying from them if it was the best price for what I was looking for.

But I don't go to Yahoo looking for something to buy.

I agree, I would NEVER consider going back to Yahoo auctions unless something really big changed. This isn't that though, this is a seamless ecommerce operation within an already existing website.

with yahoo store, you have to accept credit card online, which means getting a merchant account

Yep, that is true, though I am all set up business wise, I have a merchant account, business license, business banking account, etc. It's also not that difficult to get set up with a merchant account, I think you can do it at Costco even these days.

I used to do fairly well on Yahoo and had a pretty large number of regular buyers. Then Yahoo stopped Canadians selling, so that was the end of that. I have tried Bidville, ioffer and a couple of others, but the bidders are just not there.

she is asking about store, not auction.
costco platform is not compatible with yahoo, you need a platform which allow your customer to enter cc on your order form, each evening yahoo will batch up all the cc data and send them to the merchant account provider.
you can go to yahoo shop forum and find out more-first data (paymentech of banc one ) is one of them.
