I will be selling some items for a local charity soon. Someone donated a baseball that has been signed by the Seattle Senators BB team. I think it is 1969, but will have to check.

Can I pick your brain? It will probably be another week before I get to the box the ball is in.

I think the team you're talking about is the Seattle Pilots, the Senators were from Washington (DC)?. I believe that 1969 was the only year the Pilots existed before moving to Milwaulkie (sorry I cant spell) and becoming the Brewers. I don't know who was on that team but it may be worth something. Hopefully RG can help.

It would be the Washington Senators. They had a reunion a few years back, which might be when the ball was signed.

sthoemke is right, it is the Washington Senators. I did a little research on the ball a few months ago and have lost the info that I had collected. Still have not fully recovered from my laptop dying in Dec.

What I do know about the ball is that it was signed in 196?. I have the name of the donor and he can verify its authenticity. Main problem is that he had it mounted on a small stroughy stand and I'm not sure how that will affect the value. The main sig on the ball is a guy who later came back to be the coach and also led New York to a penant.

I was going to write one of the sports auction houses and see if they were interested in handling it. I think it would bring a better price with an auction house than with eBay.

Now that I am thinking about it again, I'll drag it out and get some pics. Sorry for the scratchy details, I'm not exactly a baseball buff. Betcha couldn't tell...

Before I lost the files, I had identified about 15 of the sigs on this ball.

Here are some quickie pics... It is a 1964 game ball.

Roaster that year...

gg, I thought about editing it out, but WTH, too much trouble at that time of day/night.

BTW, it is not mine but DH's. Wish it were mine, but my body won't let me drink anymore.
