I had an item end last evening and a few hours later had an email from the winner stating " I discovered I already have this item..please go ahead and relist". Now he(she) bid approx 2 days after the auction started and it was a 7 day auction which means they had almost 5 days to "discover" they had the same item and tell me before it ended. Now I have to go through the hassle of filing to get my fvf back. I haven't emailed them yet because I like to cool off before I do that but just wondering what to say. Any suggestions?????

Sure. Tell them they bid they win!!!!!!!!!!
Did you check to see if they had bid on an identical item from someone else? Do a little research on your buyer. Have they done this before?
What I would do is tell them for a small price you will let them out of their bid. Listing fees, restocking fees and FVF. See what they say about that.
I like it where they say "please go ahead and relist". Evidently they are not sellers because it isn't that easy. Good Luck

First thing you must do is to send them a winning bidder notice. You have to at least give them a reasonable chance to pay. I would give them the minimum times to pay, then file the NPB and FVF. And when you file the NPB, do not file it as you mutually agree to not do the transaction. ONLY FILE IT AS THEY ARE A DEADBEAT. Do not let them off of the hook. Be sure that they get the strike against them.
If the respond to your WBN stating that they are not paying, then relist at that time.

I told him I would be filing for credit. He said "Fine, we can mutually agree and you will get your fees back". Also, I just checked..he has 7 bid retractions. How many can you have before ebay does anything?

Parkman,,, site map, top of every e bay page, buyer tools, Retract my bid. Appears that it's on a csae by case, in case e bay cares. NOT. 30-40 in a week! Yeah, they may care as that is the sign of a juvenile, otherwise spread out over a long period? Nothing. 3 NPB's from 3 DIFFERENT sellers is the ONLY way. Well not paying your bill is another...

File the UID and specify that it is for non payment. Email him and tell him you charge a $25.00 fee to change it to "mutual agreement" or a $50.00 fee later to remove a strike. His choice.
