A couple months ago there was a thread about tracking shipments to the U.K. by customs form #. I can't remember the name of the thread, but I remember that you and agitprop both posted to it. Do you recall the url where these numbers can be tracked? I shipped an item to the U.K. surface on Dec 16 and it has not arrived. I'm going to the P.O. Monday to see if they can track by insurance #, but I'd also like to track the customs form number it that's possible. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Agit may have it - I was trying to find it myself a couple weeks ago but lost the link. I can tell you that their customs got WAY backed up in starting just after Christmas. Early January orders were taking about two weeks and by mid Jan it was so backed up that Airmail Letter Post was taking 3 weeks as opposed to the normal 1. It got so bad that I stopped listing items that did not justify Global Priority shipping costs. I was dealing with 50+ emails a day of people asking where their items were. From what I can tell (still get store sales that go regular so I use them to guage transit times), the backlog has started to clear up and times are returning to normal. Hopefully Agit will have the link for you but I would be surprised if the item shows up in the next week or so.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Thanks Fenix. I don't ship overseas on a regular basis, but the buyer asked permission and after I explained my shipping and payment terms I let him bid. One of my conditions is that shipping must be via a method that can be insured. I wasn't aware that surface shipping to the U.K. was insurable until after the auction ended. My fault. I should have quoted air to begin with. Hopefully Agit will wander by and find the link for us.

Thanks GT and Stop. I tried it and it didn't recognize the number. Must not be in the system yet. Hopefully the P.O. can locate it.
