I just received the following email twice for 2 of my yarn auctions.

Hello, I am a consultant with a U.K based Organisation. I am presently based in Ireland, with a Subsidiary of the Company. I was directed to this site(www.ebay.com) by a satisfied friend who got he wants from here. I am please that I have found what I want which is the Yarn you listed at the auction, I am willing to make the purchase of this item to my new store in South Africa. I will like to know if the item is still available for sale and what is the working condition of the item? I am willing to make the purchase of the item in a large quantity,so pls kindly get back to me if you are having up to 100 pieces OR less than. Do you have additional pictures for this item? If yes can you send me some picture to my email address, What is the last asking price you are giving on this item and i will like to know if you accept a bank check as your means of payment method. I will be awaiting your response in due course. Regards.

I am just not sure about them. Is it something I should reply to? Should I report it to eBay?

Thanks guys. I had no intention of selling wholesale. I don't have wholesale amounts anyway. It just looked suspicious to me. I think I will send it to spoof@ebay, maybe this person should be suspended.

"WHAT IS THE WORKING CONDITION OF THE ITEM?"

this question should have clued you in real fast that this wasn't legit...you are selling yarn...since when does one wonder if yarn is in working condition?

Ya, the "working condition of yarn" and are the batteries new?

It says,"If yes can you send me some picture to my email address, What is the last asking price you are giving on this item and i will like to know if you accept a bank check as your means of payment method. "

They don't know it's an auction????? Haven't read the auction ????
Don't email them anything is my advice, they're crooks.

The "engrish" is a tell all. I may not know what a "shekel" is, but I can tell when someone's engrish needs a bit of work!

They are just phishing, Amber. Don't respond. Just delete and move on ...

Okay I reported them, and they are "no longer registered". That's my good deed for the day.

My guess is that they are phishing for information (email address, etc).
