Buyer,,,Hey I paid too much and I want my money back including handling and shipping. I will send it back on Wednesday and you better give me ALL my money back or I will tell e bay and contact pay pal....

Wonderful,,,,and pay pal WILL give his money back by taking it EVERYTIME a deposit comes in to the account until they get every dime as demanded by the disgruntled buyer...

There goes the postage,,,,,and the labor and packing materials. What a complete joke.

Simple solution, Jack. Empty your Paypal account into your checking account, then cancel the paypal account. Unless you launder dirty money through banks in Panama or Aruba, why do you need them? Personally, if a customer doesn't have enough money in his bank account to write me a check, I don't want to deal with him.

Jack. can i suggest you put in the complaints to paypal and ebay first. that may stop him from trying to blackmail you.

Oh, don't even give the idiot his money back. I'd do as agate18 said, file a complaint first. Then, I'd do as sparkz said. As long as you shipped to a confirmed address and have proof you shipped, you should be okay. But, if you'd rather keep good will between you and this idiot, I'd tell him to send the product back (on his dime) and you'll refund the purchase price only. I don't know of any store that refunds shipping and handling as well as the purchase price for buyer's remorse.

Sparkz: Do you not accept PayPal? Just curious.

Here is something to ponder next time with pay pal,,,,if the shipping and handling are sent in the SAME payment as the ITEM. Buyer will MOST likely get ALL the money BACK. Just got off the phone with PP.....if in doubt, have the price of the item sent in ONE payment and the S/H in another payment....my guy also believes he is going to get the postage for returning it BACK to me too That's why he said he sent it PRIORITY???????????? (like I,,,,,am some BIG hurry to get it back?) It was $15.00 to him with Parcel post! gonna be easy $30.00. And he informs me I should get it Saturday!!!!! Saturday? in in a Commercial building complex????? Lying on the sidewalk in front of a Commercial building??? I ain't even HERE Saturday much less the whole friggin' Holiday weekend!!!!! It's a BIG box!

I agree. Jack shouldn't get any money when he can't even post a sensible thread.

Good question, Jack! Been wondering that myself!

BTW, did you ever give the guy his money back?

Jack,
Paypal does not get involved with quality issues so it wont do anything.
But if he used his credit card,he can file chargeback with his cc issuer,if he wins ,he will get the whole amount back including shipping and paypal will slap you with a 10 dollars chargeback fee.
(If he tells his cc issuer he wants to return the item and you say NO,or he returns the item and you refuse to accept it,or he returns the item, you accept the item and refuse to refund him,his cc issuer will rule in his favor).
It all depends on how far he will go ,will he just file paypal complaint and accept its verdict or go beyond paypal??

This may seem like a dumb question but what was his exact complaint? Just that he paid to much. If so, I wouldn't give him a dime. I would do as suggested above and contact ebay and also paypal before he does and let them know what is going on. If he bid more then he wanted to, sorry for his stupidity. There is such a thing as retract bid on ebay. You may want to let him know that if he bid more then he wanted to he should have retracted his bid, since he didn't it sound's like he is stuck with it. I don't think ebay or paypal will do anything. As for the credit card company, hmmmmmmm. Not sure how that works, you may want to call paypal and ask them how that works and what the requirement's are for them to get their money back from the credit card company. As the payment was made through paypal I would think that the credit card company would contact them about it before refunding the money. Just my two cent's

Offer a refund for the purchase price, minus the shipping and handling fees, if they wish to send the item back at their cost. (some sellers also charge a restocking fee)

PayPal should take your side if there is a threat of chargeback (a claim of bidding too much isn't a valid reason to reverse payment).

Paypal does not take side in a chargeback,it just tell you your buyer has filed a chargeback and ask you to present your side of the story, then it passes the story to his cc issuer.

You see. I am not alone on the Jack doesn't post a sensible thread. Jack has the 4 year old frame of mind and types that way too. It's getting so bad that Burger King doesn't want him any more.
