Hi ... we've always paid ebay fees thru a credit card, paying it off each month,

BUT, I've been entertaining thoughts lately of maybe paying my ebay balance weekly, thru our paypal balance, just for the sake of an easier budget.

Do any of you do this? or something similar to this? any glitchy problems encountered?

Thanks!

I have done it but not regularly. If I would remember I would do it more. I have had no problems and it is very convenient. Ebay bills you at the middle of the month but they don't take it from your CC card until about the end of the month. If you pay through paypal it is usually right away. I use to pay Vendio through paypal also but it takes longer for them to post it and then they charge a fee. (vendio) They call it a processing fee so I let them take from my CC.

aintrich, just be careful you do not do it right before, it is set-up to charge your card (if if you have it set up for auto charge) because you will make your payment with PP, think youre fine and dandy - and then more than likely the charge to credit card is still scheduled to go through. This has happened to me.

I do it every month. I live in Canada, and the exchange rate I get on my Paypal dollars is about 4 cents less than the going rate, so I like to use my Paypal account to pay for my eBay fees. I am careful not to do it too close to the time it would come off my credit card also.

I pay my fees through paypal about once or twice a week.

thanks everyone ... i am 'billed' on the 1st, then the payment doesn't come out till between the 10th and 15th ...

When I go in to my ebay seller 'account', and try to set up a different method, it ONLY gives me (supposedly) an option to have my fees "automatically" taken out of my paypal account (I guess 'monthly'?) ...

.... that SEEMS to be the only way to sign up for 'paypal/ebay payments'!? ... please correct me if I'm wrong. I would rather do weekly than monthly.

THANX!!!

I have paid thru PP for a long time without any problems. It does simplify the budget as you say. Ebay and Vendio are paid automatically once a month, so it requires no attention on my part. Vendio does not charge a fee contrary to one of the posters above.

It's simple and easy. I use the PP Visa debit card for this.

"PELORUS SAYS" ... use PP Visa debit card for this."

oooh, is that the method where you can get an additionl 1.5% credit on your 'purchase'?! ... that would be really cool ... our ebay fees average $500 month.

I stopped using Auto Credit Card payments about a year ago. Best decision I made. I don't feel pressed at the end of the month (or whenever they remove payments) to make sure all the money is there. Now, I pay every 1-2 weeks and feel in better control of my budget. The other nice thing is that I tend to watch my fees a bit closer. If I see a spike in fees vs. what i've sold, then i know something is up. it is much easier to monitor at smaller fees.

Now, I will also add that you will want to give ebay up to 30 days to remove your credit card billing from autopayments. I made the mistake of that and it ended up going through when I wasn't expecting it to. Threw off my bank account for the first time in 10+ years. You may want to notify your bank that you are canceling the Auto Payment. They may want to charge you a "stop payment" fee.

I do it all the time with my smaller selling account, the larger I need to start doing it more often.
I've never had a problem. I also pay my vendio fees by using the the paypal card, as my credit card on file.

I only pay with PayPal. It forces you to monitor how much money you give to eBay every month, and makes you more careful about listing items that have little value or might not sell.

aintrichyet, You can pay any time you want to by going to your My eBay and then Seller Account. That will bring up a box with eBay Seller Fees and the box will have what you owe in it. You can pay all or part.

I agree, use the Paypal debit card. I do and get 1.5% cash back when I pay my bill. Nice to be able to get back some of my money from them since they have started charging more for listing's. If you don't have a Paypal debit card and you get one now you will only get 1% cash back, as they have changed the cash back rate for new card members.

-----------

we think we can only do this if do it "monthly", right? wrong?
Like if we set up our 'paypal debit/credit card' as the ebay's billing target?

I just checked my paypal account and I didn't get the 1.5%
I go to ebay click pay seller fees (whatever) pay from my balance.
But for vendio I do use the card as the target billing card each month and do recieve the 1.5%

I think I need to go and adjust something at ebay to get the paypal % money back

You have to use the Paypal debit card to get the 1.5% back, you don't get it if you pay directly from your balance.

I've been paying both Vendio & Ebay this way for months. No problems and I do enjoy the 1.5% kickback!

I also use it to pay for postage, shipping supplies, etc. Makes it real easy to track selling costs.

I've been using my PayPal debit card to pay my eBay invoice for some time now and even though it's only a few bucks back...I grin every month I do this.

I used to use my PayPal debit card but after my bank started offering a miles debit card I use that instead.

I'm saving up miles for first class to Thailand. That should make eBay very happy

I use the "One-Time Payment" option when I pay my fees. I fill in the info. for the Paypal debit card and love the 1.5% back.

I also buy all of my postage with Endicia with the PP debit card. I usually end up with about $60 per month is cash back bonuses after all of my purchases/fees payments!!!

I use my PayPal account to pay for eBay fees. Before Christmas last year I had my fees debited from my checking account and they took the fees out earlier than normal which caused me to bounce a couple of checks. I switched my fees schedule to be my PayPal debit card but I never let them get as far to charge it because I make payments from my account when I can. I haven't had any problems since then.

It's weird when people say that you can get double charged if you pay after you get your invoice. If my invoice is $43 (I wish, it's never that low!) I pay it down. Occasionally I'll get an email saying "you owe $12" or whatever which is what is left from the balance invoice that I paid. I just pay that and I'm paid off for the month. I don't ever get double charged or billed. I've been doing this since last November.
