I am trying to translate something that I think is from Switzerland. I looked on Babel Fish and discovered that I don't know what language they speak there. Duh! There was no language on Babel Fish that I felt corresponded with a language that would be spoken in Switzerland. Can you help!?

It is "sueim" I think. It is on one of the figural bottle stoppers that also pour. I am trying to discover what country made this type. It is a nice porcelain material. I thought it might have been made in Switzerland like so many of the carved wooden stoppers.

There are four official languages in Switzerland. The Swiss-Germans speak "schwyser-deutsch" ( a dialect of german). It is not a written language. (I have spent the past 22 years trying to learn it as DH is Swiss). Swiss also speak French, Italian and in a few remote villages, "Romansch" (a Latin dialect). I don't recognize that word!

Not sure here but sueim bears some resemblence to suomi, which means Finland.
Is it possible your piece is from there? Does it look Scandinavian? Give us a pic if possible.

SUEIM is actually a latin word. It is used extensively by the legal community in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. If he bumps into your car, we'll SUEIM. If you trip and fall on his property, we'll SUEIM. If that Ebay seller pads the shipping and handling, we'll SUEIM. It was recently adopted as the national slogan by the NAACP (National Association Of Ambulance Chasing Professionals). Are you sure this thing wasn't made in Los Angeles?
